Two weeks later, the US appears headed for possibly the coldest December on record.
It’s hard to make predictions, especially about the future. As a wise man once said. Yogiism?
In recent years NOAA gets it right about as often as the British Met Office. This week we are way below the average temps for Yuma this week, whatever average is. We have not set any record lows, but then the record low for today was set in 1891, when it hit 29 degrees overnight. We haven’t come within 8 degrees of that, but I have hope for a white Christmas here, yet.
Weather Underground says it will be in the low 70’s by the end of the week. They have been wrong about temps for the last two weeks. That’s what gives me hope, lol.
It is because the melting ice in the Arctic use a lot of energy to melt, so naturally the air gets cold.

Useless chatter. No one does anything different due to the forecast. It’s like horoscopes in the newspaper.
