Our military is overpaid at the moment. Unfortunately saying something like that is like pointing out the Police offers are now paid so high they bankrupting cities, or questioning whether teachers are underpaid.

Mr. Goddard, where is your data about how “this November is pretty close to the median” coming from? Because NASA’s data (http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata_v3/GLB.Ts+dSST.txt) seems to indicate pretty clear that this November’s global temperature is the furthest out its ever been.

It has gotten very, very cold, very early this year.
Satellite data do not contradict NASA’s or NOAA’s ranking of Nov 2013 as the warmest on record. They measure different things. Satellites measure lower atmosphere temps and may be up to 8 miles above the ground level. The other data are from ground measurements. Surface temps in Nov were the highest on record. Lower atmosphere temps were moderately warmer than average. These two facts do not contradict each other.
You have no idea what you are talking about. TLT is measured at 14,000 feet and directly contradicted NASA and NOAA’s bogus claim.
