The rise in CO2 over the past century (100 ppm) is equivalent to packing an extra five people into the Porto Alegre stadium, where the US will play Portugal this evening.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

If there aren’t any seats left, some can stand.
You’d think there would be room for just 5 more in that big stadium, but it’s totally sold out, and it’s not even standing room only as that’s not allowed. Those 5 CO2s are going to have to stand… outside of the stadium, out in the cold. Don’t worry, the CO2s should be able to generate their own heat, and not be so cold. Not!
Maybe they can get seats at a nearby sports bar and even some carbonated beverages.
If they are terrorists packing nuclear heat, those five people could make a huge difference!
What if it was John McClane (played by Bruce Willis in the Die Hard movie series) and 4 of his hand-picked men? Just thinking on the other end of the scale …
No, these 5 CO2s are packing “catastrophic” heat….
But wait, the problem is we’ve had 18 years of no warming despite 2 or 3 additional CO2s cramming into that stadium. In ~ 1990 Hansen and their computer models said that if we let those CO2s in we’d be facing, now, temperatures going through the roof. Well, we went ahead and let those CO2s in. Nothing happened. Nada. I guess the CO2s just took a seat, and didn’t do squat. CO2 turned out to be a dud. A firecracker that didn’t crack. A diamond that didn’t shine. A mockingbird.. that didn’t sing. A looking glass that didn’t look. A dog named Rover that didn’t bark. A cart with the horse put behind it. And throughout history, using ice core data, what we’ve seen is CO2 is a follower, not a leader. CO2 follows temperature change, it doesn’t lead temperature change. There’s zero evidence suggesting otherwise. Go back to the drawing board. CO2 has NOT been doing its greenhouse thing like the squawking fear mongering Chicken Littles said it would.
To my wife’s horror I am looking forward to watching the game. I’ve grown to like a sport where the action doesn’t stop every two minutes for a commercial break. I learned the rules and strategies while helping a coach with his older teen travel team with out of town transportation to tournaments. It’s such a great way to allow teenagers to expend aggressive tendencies against another team. It beats having them get involved with gangs during the summer months where I live. Cheaper, too.
I prefer the good news-the extra CO2 is making the world greener, much greener, especially in semi-arid regions.
So why wouldn’t the greens want a greener world???
Dear, EUA will play Portugal in Arena da Amazônia, Manaus, and not in Porto Alegre. Very, very far from here (Porto Alegre). Unfortunately.
Well, make that four extra people instead of five!
Sure! Congratulations. Good team!
