Global warming is making Chicago extremely cold, and putting people at risk for heat exhaustion.
Climate change has brought Chicago unpredictable and increasingly extreme weather.
a wet, cool July. Extreme hot temperatures put our guests and employees at risk for heat exhaustion. Unexpectedly cold temperatures, like snow in April and 60 degrees in July, leave out-of-town guests unprepared to spend much time outdoors exploring Chicago.
Moreover, an unusually long winter like the one endured in 2014 showed that more severe storms and weather in the winter also hurt business bottom lines. The long, extreme cold further into the spring causes a drop in sales for group tour business and private events in the early part of the season as people are not yet ready to commit to outdoors activities. A colder Lake Michigan has resulted in fog blocking visibility for sightseeing.
Global warming threatens Chicago tourism – Chicago Sun-Times
Meanwhile, Heidi Central says that the global warming cold weather in Chicago is going to make the climate of Chicago “move south” 12 degrees F

Almost everyone at my fraternity house at ASU 40 years ago was from Chicago. They went to Arizona to get away from the crappy weather in Chicago. The climate isn’t moving south, rather the people are moving south to get away from the cold.
Alarmists must be on some pretty strong drugs, because they are completely irrational and clueless.
Maybe flying around bullets is also bad for tourism.
It doesn’t help that tourists are robbed on the trains into downtown either.

Welcome to Chicago, this is a stickup.
“The climate isn’t moving south, rather the people are moving south to get away from the cold.”
I am in central Florida. It is hot and humid here in the deep summer. I find it wonderful to work outside in this “heat”. What is bad is going into A/C and then out into the heat. It is the up and down that gets you.
By the way, have the alarmists ever told us what the perfect climate looks like? They screamed we were going to die in the 70’s due to it getting colder, and now they scream we will die if it gets any hotter. What is the perfect temperature?
But the AC feels so gooooood! I did not live in a house with AC until I was almost 30. I learned to live without.
Mark, you are right. I love Florida. Bring the heat. I don’t care. And it’s usually in the low 90s, and very humid. It’s not like AZ at 115. I have a house in Ft Myers and plan to retire there.
So Cal has perfect weather, and 30 Million people to share it with. State tax at 10% or so. Not worth it anymore.
So Cal may have perfect weather right now, but it has no water. The lack of rain and water conservation will put whole populations at risk if the drought turns out to be one of the major ones not seen in modern history. I shudder to think of what this will do to the politics in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah as people have to leave the California coast.
They should consult Israel.
AGWing causes bed-wetting and lily-livered quivering under tables by imbecilic, gullible drones who can’t even spell kritik critiqu critical thinking.
What is this extreme crap? Chicago has been cool, which isn’t extraordinary.
People need money, but what type of loser writes about the unseasonably cool weather blaming it on Gore-bull WARMING. Also who ever guaranteed the perfect weather for tourism season every year…. oh the Democrats do?
Progtards live in a nether world where real world dangers don’t exist, and imaginary dangers have them trembling. Eventually, they will prove Darwin right with a program of “Jihad outreach”… going into terror training camps to preach AGW.
What became of that poster that was ranting about non-stop 90 degree days in the midwest?
With the current political class in charge, the whole country is going south.
+1
The south will rise again,
Their “interactive” site has a lot of gaps. And a whole load of BS.
I tried Furnace Creek, CA, and got nothing. Same with Key West.
You pick Brownsville, TX, they counter with Tuscon, AZ. Tuscon doesn’t have a match.
You pick Albuquerque, NM, they counter with Laredo, TX. And Laredo matches with Abu Dhabi, UAE.
That map is complete nonsense. Anyone who thinks that a city located in a forested environment immediately adjacent to one of the largest lakes on the planet could ever have a climate like a city situated in an arid plain far removed from any appreciable body of water is either completely ignorant of climate science, or is intentionally lying (or both…). It seems that Climate Alarmists have gone so extreme with their ‘scientific’ views that they believe that CO2 is the *only* thing that influences climate.
Tucson is really a strange pick. It gets snow there sometimes in the winter and in recent summers a lot of rain for a desert community. It also has Mt. Lemmon directly north which rises to 9,500 feet.
But it is way warmer in the summer.
Alarmists must be on some pretty strong drugs, because they are completely irrational and clueless.
When your eye is on the prize, everything else fades into insignificance; It’s almost as if they took lessons from Barry Goldwater: “Extremism in the defense of Environmentalism is no vice, and moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.”

I’m from Chicago and I would never join a fraternity that allowed anyone from Chicago to be in the fraternity. 😉 h/t Groucho Marx
