I did a little research, and actually came to appreciate the statement of docfjs.
Peron frequently exceeded his constitutional authority, and tortured his opponents (on the left and right), like a dictator. Threw out the constitution, like a dictator. Unilaterally nationalized property owned by others, like a dictator.
Yes he was elected. The belief that dictators can’t be elected is a logical fallacy. It is what is done with power once it is acquired that counts.

Well, it sounds on that basis that Obama, Bush and Blair were “Dictators” (Bush actually was upset that he could not be a dictator , to make his life easier, Cheney said he couldn’t and gave him another book about goats to colour in)
It is not surprising that if you listen to the media, then Putin, Assad, Hussein, Chavez, Castro in fact anyone that either does not like US or that US does not like, is a Brutal* Dictator. In each case they are anti corporatist, and pro-welfare. It even gets to the point that they believe that people should have water, energy, housing and transport at reasonable rates (even free!)
If you truly believe that Peron was a Brutal Dictator, and could show evidence of brutality, then fine. I think he was a (very) popular socialist trying to keep his country from becoming a “Banana Republic”,** under control and for the the exploitation of US companies.
Like Chavez, Allende, Castro and Mosaddegh, he had to go so that the “Nationalised” socialist industries could be “Privatised” by international (i.e. US/UK) corporations.
