It turns out that the growth in Antarctic ice was just an algorithm error. This is excellent news for professor Chris Turney who now knows that his multi-million dollar entrapment was a simple software bug.

Yes, they can cause a real havoc. A serious algorithm error during my college years made me and a friend jump around midnight into a water fountain with two local girls. The water feature happened to be located in the main square of a small European town, right in front of the police station. It took the constables till 4 am before they were satisfied we’d made the right adjustments.

Tell me. Why would the Australian govt. have budgeted multi-millions of dollars to build a new Antarctic icebreaker as part of the largest investment in Antarctica in Australian history…….if the ice is melting.?

The new vessel will be required (ie; minimum specs.) to have an icebreaking capability of 1.65m of ice while maintaining a speed of three knots.
