I guess the Great Lakes were not informed that the pause isn’t real.
Maybe we should start adding the Great Lakes to the official Arctic (Sea) Ice Level stats now.

In addition to WordPress booting my comments into the ether on a routine basis, I am now getting “Connection closed by remote server”
It is way below zero on my mountain in NY.
This is one of the bitterest winters I have ever lived through and I lived through the super cold 1970’s in NY when I used to go to the sea shore to feed the starving salt water ducks who would mob me looking for food (they ate fish I got from fish markets). The ducks became so used to me, they would sit on my lap and put their heads inside my coat for warmth. A number of them died despite my efforts.
Well, the East River and Hudson Rivers are now frozen again just like back then!

-6 F Here near Anderson, IN. Slight breeze brings the wind chill to -10. The birds are letting me know they are thankful for the two feed blocks I put out for them.
Tomorrow (Saturday) We are forecast to get about six more inches of the white stuff.
