Next Steps For Net Neutrality

Now that we have the government deciding what is in the public interest, look for a set of rules banning things like climate skepticism on the Internet.

The hoax will be exposed, and become apparent to all at some point within our lifetime…I find comfort in the fact that all of this is of record-because we will need to go after these SOBs.

  2. bleakhouses says:

Net neutrality=less people getting worse service for more money; exactly what socialism stands for.

  3. Don says:

This will be tied up for years in the courts, where the FCC does not have a good record.

    • nielszoo says:

You forget that our current dictatorship administration ignores the courts just as blithely as it ignores the Constitution and legitimate federal law (yes I know that’s an oxymoron today.) Enforcement of both court actions and the laws of the land fall to the DoJ who are mostly complicit in said law breaking to begin with. The only way out of this is for State governments to start protecting their citizens by standing up to the illegal actions of the federal government until such time as that government can be drug back inside the confines of our Constitution… not holding my breath.

  4. Dave N says:

One very big problem they’ll have is determining exactly what is “disinformation”. For example, will those claiming “accelerated SLR” in some areas call for the blocking of actual PSMSL data, which contradicts their claims? Will they turn off the satellites that produce data that does the same?

I seriously expect zero to happen; it’s rather like the climate talks they have regularly where a lot is said and “agreed” on, but nothing ever actually happens.

    • Gail Combs says:

The Obam Admin has already targeted Dr Christy, Dr Spencer’s boss for attack. These are the two scientists who produce RSS and UAH satellite data. If they can manage to get the University of Alabama to toss Dr Christy out (along with Dr Spencer) that gets rid of one of the very big thorns. News media is very very biased already. Now just make skeptic sites very very slow and you strangle the truth sayers. You do not even have to ban them. Google already tosses many of the skeptic sites to the back of the line.

Just google skeptic climate and you will see what I mean.

Judging by the number of over-jealous ham radio (Pro-bono) FCC deputies that seem to be all-too eager to chastise or turn-in fellow citizens for using the wrong radio frequency; there is plenty of support for internet regulation, restrictions, taxes, fees, and penalties.

Don’t even think about photo-shopping a certificate of origin for your milk cow; they’ve been known to knock over oil lamps and start major metropolitan fires……..

Oh, and don’t be that unfortunate person who forgets to have their Jon boat or fire-wood checked (and certified) for the absence of invasive species when crossing state lines….

“Judging by the number of over-jealous ham radio (Pro-bono) FCC deputies that seem to be all-too eager to chastise or turn-in fellow citizens for using the wrong radio frequency”

I can’t stand busy bodies. But there are a lot of them out there, which is how the gestapo achieved success.

      • Gail Combs says:

We lived next door to one. Every afternoon she would walk the neighborhood looking for zoning code “infractions” we had an inspector out on a monthly basis harassing us over one thing after another. It is one of the reasons we left New England.

Little did she know that one of the tails she was repeatedly stomping on was that of a serial killer who lived a few houses down….

      • Pops says:

I was watching Lord Monckton earlier today, and he made the comment that dictatorships tend to create a lot of little dictators at all levels. I expect that’s one reason such otherwise idiotic approaches to social structure are able to attain critical mass.

  8. For years the establishment media, academics and politicians have created an illusionary world around their beliefs and around enriching & empowering them. No one could do anything about it. Indeed most people were totally unaware of this anti-democratic cartel of vested interests.

Then along came the internet and people started pointing out how the vested interests of the establishment carve up wealth and power for themselves.

The media were undermined by online advertising.
Academia are undermined by bloggers able to bypass their “peer-filter” which stopped all views except those of public-sector academia ever getting seen as “established knowledge)
And it will undermine the political system as we know it with large “me too” political parties with almost nothing to choose between them (on most issues) because the only real issue is giving back power to ordinary people, and the people in Washington, Westminster and Numptyhood (Scottish parliament) might disagree on some issues, but they all agree that they should have more and more power.

Just as the Catholic church could not uninvent printing so, they can’t stuff the internet Genie back in the bottle. Just as the Catholic church created the inquisition to try to repress the new views spread by printing, so the knee jerk reaction of the present establishment will be to hold inquisition after inquisition to try to repress the internet. And just like the Catholic church, the present establishment will find that it cannot win the war and that unless IT CHANGES, then change will be forced upon it.

    • Gail Combs says:

Once people have opened their eyes, the current political system can not close them again.

Feudalism and the Divine Right of Kings given legitimacy by the Catholic church, reigned for 1,000 years. Then came the printing press, the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution and all the religious, social and political revolutions. Ever since then the Elite have been trying to stuff the Genie back in the bottle. LINK

A form of communism was tried in the Colonies in the early 1600s and failed miserably. LINK Different varieties of ‘socialism’ had been discussed for centuries, but it was not until Marx who took it from the academic realm of ‘How many angel can dance on the head of a pin’ to WE MUST IMPLEMENT, that it went from minor ‘intentional communities’ to the wholesale revamping of countries.

The reason why whole countries embraced socialism was the Elite need socialism. Otherwise socialism, animal rights, social justice and all the rest would be forgotten fads gathering dust. The Elite needed a replacement for the monolithic Catholic church that had disintegrated thanks to the printing press. They need a way to convince the peasants that they did not want property rights, a good education and the freedom to challenge their betters. Infusing the education system with ‘socialism’ was the answer. LINK

Pascal Lamy identified three needs for the successful establishment of a government.

Leadership ===> Bretton Woods, United Nations, WTO, NGOs

Legitimacy ===> CAGW, environmentalism, world economic crisis

Efficiency ===> bring about results for the benefit of ‘the people’ aka Social Justice, Redistribution of technology, resources and wealth. Protect environment. (Or at least that is what we are told.)

Coherent ===> ‘Harmonization of laws’, Removal of national Sovereignty.

Unfortunately, thanks to Maurice Strong’s brainchild, the NGOs, concerned citizens have been scooped up and turned into useful idiot activists. Strong having worked for YMCA international realized the political power in activist organizations. That NGOs could provide faux legitimacy for unpopular political moves. He also realized that they could easily be controlled through funding since members had no voting rights.

Look at the funding of any prominent NGO and you will find it is the Elite hiding behind the curtain.

It was only a matter of time until Aryan Science outlawed any other scientific thought as apostasy and sent blasphemers to the concentration camps for re-education. You are only “free” to think the Party Line–anything else is Treason.

My crack about Aryan Science is spot-on, unfortunately.

My father was the one who did that in Operation Paperclip. Because he spoke fluent German and understood rocket technology, he was sent to Germany to take the German scientists out right under the nose of both the Nazis and the Soviet army. At one point, he was being shot at by all sides as he entered the secret caves where the rockets were being made in Thüringen forest outside of Jena.

Every tax, every regulation comes with it an army of bureaucrats and behind that an army (with guns) of enforcers.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

It might not be a bad idea to make sure that both your browsers and software are up-to-date. It is also generally a good idea to have multiple browsers to use, so that if you have trouble with one, you can always try the other. Sometimes it does make a difference.

  12. Andy Mirlach says:

“Net neutrality has been adopted by a narrow margin. So what is it?
Simply put, it hands control of the Internet to the government — and possibly even the United Nations.”
