This was an article that I used in my “Colderside of Global Warming” climate lectures for a number of years, and it had an image of the open “lead” at the North Pole’s position. It appeared on the left side of the page with a huge picture of Al Gore, Joe Lieberman and spouses immediately to its right, on the campaign trail.
If you had ANY doubts of the NYT long term involvement in both the AGW scare and its pandering to politics behind it, please remove them (both doubts and by vote, politicians of that ilk)!!!
Front page, BTW!!!
Saw an interesting quote in the article”
“Scientists and policy makers are still arguing about whether this is a natural fluctuation or an effect of industrial society’s releasing heat-trapping gasses into the atmosphere.”
I guess this was before the 97% put to rest any of the denialists’ doubts.
Honestly, I doubt that we’ll ever see this language in the NYT again.
Did Jim Hunt take my advise and go to the N. Pole to take it’s temperature? Usually something like this gets a rise out of him.
