This product is also referred to as Shortwave Absorbed Radiation (SWAR). Absorbed solar radiation is the difference between the incoming solar radiation at the top of the atmosphere and the outgoing reflected flux at the top of the atmosphere.

Product shows the incoming solar radiation at the top of the atmosphere. It is derived from the AVHRR instrument. The available solar energy only varies with the solar zenith angle.

To be fair to Al Goober, those pics were taken in Feb when the north pole is dark. So look at the south pole, not much different. Then again, why would I want to be fair to Al Goober?
IMO there is a reason for this.
It appears the AMO has reached its peak and now is in decline.
The increase in annual sea ice in the North Atlantic region is evidence/ a result of that.
It might be a good prediction and good to watch the specific amount and duration of annual
sea ice in that region.

How many times do alarmists have to be proven wrong on their Arctic ice fetish? Plenty of ice in the Arctic.
Alarmists are always claiming the Arctic Sea Ice is the “canary in the coal mine.” Wrong. Arctic ice extent varies a lot for a lot of reasons. Predictions of its disappearing because of rising CO2 are another attempt to use a natural process as proof that global warming is dangerous and linked to fossil fuels.
Like most things in the climate, many factors are involved in determining Arctic sea ice extent. Among those many influences, the weakest case is claiming CO2 as a driving force.
I am far more concerned with the coal mine than the canary.
Other claimed that the Great Lakes were the canary a few years back. But of course that canary froze it’s ass off the last couple years and so the Lakes are no longer a canary. Now they are an indication of “Climate Change” when Buffalo gets blasted by a November winter effect snow.
All one has to do is pay attention to know that those people are either liars or idiots and should not be trusted to even dog sit, let alone declare with any authority that the world is warming or the climate is changing due to man.
