Google has chosen the criminals at Politifact to be their Ministry of Truth about climate. Here is their latest criminal activity.
Ted Cruz made a 100% accurate statement. Satellites show no warming for over 17 years, and models are wrong.
Cruz responded, “My view actually is simple. Debates on this should follow science and should follow data. Many of the alarmists on global warming, they’ve got a problem because the science doesn’t back them up. In particular, satellite data demonstrate for the last 17 years, there’s been zero warming. None whatsoever. It’s why — you remember how it used to be called ‘global warming’ and then magically the theory changed to ‘climate change’? The reason is it wasn’t warming, but the computer models still say it is, except the satellites show it’s not.”

So how did PolitiLies respond?
Cruz’s statement contains an element of truth but ignores critical facts that would give a different impression, so we rate it Mostly False.
They presented no evidence that anything Cruz said was false, and based their judgment on the future predictions from the same people who made the original mispredictions. They use only climate alarmists as their references. That is propaganda with a pre-determined outcome, not journalism.
Their argument is based on the circular logic that the failed models from the past predict warming in the future. Using that logic, alarmists always win – as long as they continue to lie about the future.
Chris Barren uses the same logic. Responding to a fact filled post by Gail, he said…

I think I get it now.
All over the Northern Hemisphere, cold records were shattered this winter, many locations by several degrees. That is evidence of natural weather (or man-made [contrived] global climate change, depending upon the borg pontificator – they can never get their stories straight).
Somewhere on earth right now there is a heat record being broken, by hundredths of a degree. During this NH Spring (and this upcoming summer), somewhere, some heat records are and will be broken, by 10ths or hundredths of a degree. That is evidence of man-made [contrived] global climate change.
Surface station data, which has been massaged upward with non-station information, filled in with warm-biased temperatures, by climate professionals back in Boulder and Manhattan, should be relied upon as if it were fact. It is to be published in the New York Times and displayed on the national 6:00 evening news, cable news networks and popular Internet blogs, like the Huffington Post. It is to be broadcast, printed and repeated – everywhere.
Unadjusted satellite measurements, which never recorded anything close to the man-contrived warm-biased filling in of non-station temps, by the climate professionals in Boulder and in Manhattan, should be ignored. Any scientist reporting the unadjusted satellite measurements, any politician, news network or publication, or Internet blog reporting the unadjusted satellite measurements is being dishonest, and should be ignored.
Or worse – they are to be marginalized and ridiculed by the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State of the United States, and on down through the ranks in the Executive Branch agencies – as being anti-science “climate deniers” (or worse – that they are shills being paid by the fossil fuel industry to report disinformation). There is “no room” for “climate deniers” who cite satellite temperatures in this administration.
The only “science” allowed is the computer-generated Boulder and Manhattan surface station fantasies, and not a word is to be uttered about the disillusioning satellite data that contradicts the fraudulent adjustments of the surface data. Anyone who reports on the disillusioning satellite data is to be referred to as having been “trained” by the fossil fuel industry – and/or as a member of the flat-earth society, whose voice is to be ignored as irrelevant – they are to be silenced.

“Disillusioned” reminds me that I once believed an illusion. Contrary to the negative connotation, disillusionment is good. ~50% of the population could stand some disillusionment/de-programming.

I wonder how politifact rates GISS saying that 2014 was the warmest year when they subsequently admit that there is only a 38% chance of it being true by their own data?
Global warming has been elevated to an axiom, a first principle that is so basic, it needs no proof.
It is a fundamental fact. Questioning an axiom is like questioning the value of Pi.
This is convenient as it allows the alarmist hegemony to dismiss any skepticism as flat earther-ism.
If you recall that the existence of emperor’s beautiful new clothing was axiomatic, you get the idea.
Ted Cruz is clearly right and both Google and Politifact are very clearly discrediting themselves. Google is clearly too close with Obama and his cronies, as evidenced by its role in reviewing the FCC ruling that it should take control of the Internet.

Apparently when you choose the year when you became flat broke to demonstrate how long you’ve been flat broke for, that’s “cherry picking”. Perhaps one should say “I’ve only just become flat broke” despite being flat broke for 17 years.
