  1. darrylb says:

Maybe Steve, you should present a contest for all of us.
The winner would be the person who can list the most AGW predictions that were wrong.

Then again we might get carpal tunnel trying to list them all.

  2. darrylb says:

When I was teaching we had S.A. in the school. It was designed somewhat for teachers
Now, I would not bother to glance at an issue of itl

Why not? They are still using the same models, but now with retsyn!

  4. Ernest Bush says:

They will probably be trying too hard to stay warm and will not have time to provide excuses for anything. With all the coal-fired generating plants shutting down and vastly colder winters, life back east and north and going to be rough for everybody.

I would ask how they can blame the pause on a cooling Pacific when its rather warm out there at the moment and the Pacific only just crested the top of the PDO.

  5. KTM says:

They say that the “warm phase” of the PDO has warmer temps near the equator and cooler temps away from the equator.

Doesn’t that mean that the “cool phase” we’re in now should accelerate the “polar amplification” they claim will happen, while a switch to the “warm phase” might increase global temperatures but cool the poles and suppress “polar amplification”?

We have near-record polar sea ice now during the “cool phase”, just imagine how extensive the polar sea ice will get after the PDO switches back and cools the poles!

    • Neal S says:

That might explain why efforts to aggressively promote “hottest xxx ever” have stepped up. Perhaps time is running out, and soon changes such as you have mentioned, will make it even harder to keep the ruse going. Our would-be masters need to get us all enslaved before the CAGW excuse will no longer work.

  6. inMAGICn says:

You mean there are oceanic and terrestrial effects that are more powerful than CO2 warming? Ah Joe, say it ain’t so.

  7. Marsh says:

I once had respect for NASA back in the 1970’s ; that standing has moved to the other extreme nowadays. “Never in the field of human conflict, has so much damage been done to so many by so few.” NASA is front & centre to this Scientific travesty; today they’ve become damaged goods!

Oh how the mighty have fallen ; getting out of this fiasco will be harder than returning Apollo 13.

    • omanuel says:

      Marsh,

Every federal agency and almost everybody that has a job must now follow directions from the tyrants who seized worldwide control on 25 Oct 1945 to save themselves and the world from nuclear annihilation.

    • omanuel says:

      Do not be discouraged, Marsh.

The real ruler of the world is the pulsar solar core that
      1. Made our elements
      2. Birthed the solar system five billion years (5 Ga) ago
      3. Sustained the origin and evolution of life after 3.5 Ga ago
      4. Still controls every atom, life and world in the solar system today, . . .

a volume of space greater than the combined volumes of ten billion, billion Earth’s!

Big Brother very arrogantly and foolishly decided to hide this pulsar in 1945!

    • Disillusioned says:

Marsh, you’re not alone. There are a lot of us in that boat. Even some NASA employees.

    • omanuel says:

I suspect many former consensus scientists are now starting to realize they were used by world leaders trying to take totalitarian control of the whole world.

      The good news is:

      1. These tyrants have absolutely no control over the Sun’s pulsar core, and

      2. The Sun’s pulsar core has total control of every atom, life and world and is guided by the same benevolent, intelligent and creative Mind that holds the spinning electrons of each atom together.

I.e., the conclusion to this seventy year effort to enslave mankind will fail!

  8. Chris Barron says:

Instructions are now being issued about how to get a denier ‘on the team’…is it just a coincidence that they chose this issue ?

    • AndyG55 says:

You haven’t figured out point 5 yet, have you. 🙂

      • gator69 says:

        #5 Should read…

        5. Know when you have been beat.

Hopefully, after all that, you’ll have made enough of a connection to change your mind. If you achieved any meaningful knowledge, hang up your hat and ask questions of those more knowledgable another day. You’re officially a part of the losers club (you’re going to hate our clubhouse — it’s so humiliating).

But you know what? It never works. Maybe you were never interested in having a conversation. Maybe you are too emotional. Maybe you are unwilling to converse with your superiors. Whatever the obstacle is, don’t let yourself be so invested in the debate that you can’t learn something and walk away. It’s OK if today was not the day or if you were not the person capable of learning new information. Just by being cool as a cucumber, you’ve made it easier for that person to view your stupidity as less of a big, bad monster — and that’s a win too!

      • Chris Barron says:

You haven’t figured your life out yet, have you 😉

        • AndyG55 says:

Oh dear, you poor childish little drone.

Have you ANYTHING to offer to society , or mankind in general..

          Nope.. I didn’t think so.

          LOSER !!

        • AndyG55 says:

          I mean, seriously??

I have taught low IQ 13 year olds that would have come up with a better response that. that.

          PATHETIC !!!

        • Chris Barron says:

Do you honestly think an insult by word under these circumstances has any meaning ? I suppose you think it does !

It’s just a battle of words…don’t think that everyone you talk to puts as much emphasis on it as you. Talk is cheap, insults are free…..but I’ve posted the maths supporting my argument which you have claimed doesn’t stack up but never once have you given any numbers of your own.

Stick to teaching the low IQ 13 year olds if you can, they’re the only ones who might be taken in by your bluster.

        • AndyG55 says:

“Stick to teaching the low IQ 13 year olds if you can”

          I’m trying to teach you.

          But you are not capable.

Those guys would have walked all over you.

        • Chris Barron says:

          When my indifference passes……

        • Chris Barron says:

Andy – “I’m trying to teach you.”

What is it that you are trying to teach me ? How to insult people ? As you know I’m indifferent to that myself so have you got something *better* we can value ?

    • rah says:

Notice it is not about learning. It’s about opinion. From the very beginning that was what it was all about for the alarmists. For them it is never about questioning your own position and motivations for it. It was never about listening and learning.

      • Disillusioned says:

Bingo. After I became disillusioned because of the data, that’s exactly what I found out.

I figured my friends would be happy hearing the good news. But, they wouldn’t listen to what I had to share with them. Their wall was up. No amount of dissillusioning data would be considered. What they could explain away, they would, and what they could not explain away, they simply ignored, got political, or went ad hom.

I was a believer in man-made global warming. I also had an open mind, and I changed my mind because of the data. My liberal friends’ minds were closed. From start to finish, they weren’t about to change. They parroted desmogblog, huffington post, SKS, talking points, without being able to go deeper. Their knowledge was shallow and scripted. I knew the talking points, and had had to answer each one for myself before I became disillusioned. So, I knew the talking points, and I was able to answer every one of their poll parrot rebuttals with facts. Instead of acknowledging it, they said would get frustrated, say they knew I was wrong, and called me a “denier”. They just wouldn’t budge. The data didn’t matter.

In practicality, what they were doing was the behavior of someone in total denial; they wouldn’t let new information rattle their paradigm.

        • annieoakley says:

“They just won’t budge” So true and exasperating.

        • Chris Barron says:

When i reach the brick wall I leave them with a question

“At some point you changed from being a skeptic to a believer. I presume it was because you have received some information which was overwhelmingly undeniably convincing…..can you please tell me what that piece of information was for you ? – What was the piece of proof that swung your opinion in favour of supporting AGW theory ?”

Then there is usually a silence

      • Chris Barron says:

It is fear which makes them behave that way Rah….it is always safer for an individual to adopt a zeitgeist position when the powers that be offer it up to them in a way which allows the individual to believe they came to the conclusion by themself. In most cases I don’t think you can blame an AGW believer for what they believe, any more than you can criticise a fat person who wishes to lose weight by staying off fatty food…..yet evidence now suggests that natural fats are a healthy and essential component of our diet in moderation, but even moderate amounts of sugar makes it nearly impossible to lose weight…..and yet we find it easy to adopt the attitude that if you eat less fat you will lose weight…….
(In one trial, athletic men in a study group who were fed high levels of saturated fat had noticeably higher testosterone levels than those in an equivalent low fat group. Study has shown that fat is an essential component for a healthy hormone system)

As per the moto of Mossad “”Where no counsel is, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.””

Perhaps it is better not to try too hard to be one of the people, but instead focus on remaining the individual that you always were.

  9. Andy DC says:

Lots of unseasonable cold over much of the USA next week, maybe some major cities will even see unusual late April snowfall.

  10. Menicholas says:

I think it is quite amusing that the people who wrote this obviously believe that they are talking about the other side of the “debate”, and not themselves:

    • Disillusioned says:

Yes. Their wall of [projection] is very high.

That 5 steps list is just more shallow talking points that keep ignorant sheep believing they’re on the side of “the science” – without having to face any real science.
