The Obamas have claimed that they did not purchase Robin’s Nest in Hawaii. Not sure what the facts are there, as you never can be any time Obama opens his mouth. At the very least, one of his close friends (who supposedly made the purchase) doesn’t believe there’s any threat in sea level rise.

“This vegetation map showing the eastern USA during the period 28,000-25,000 14C y.a. has been compiled by Paul & Hazel Delcourt. An ice sheet already covered most of Canada and extended south of the Great Lakes. Boreal conifer woodlands and forests predominated in what is now the cool temperate forest zone, and the cool and warm temperate forest belts were compressed southwards.” link

Mixed/deciduous trees and warm temperate forest sounds just fine to me so I think I will stay in the Carolinas. (The eastern bump in the middle of the US Atlantic coast.)

I will leave the snow over the roof tops to more hardy souls like Emsnews.

The little red dot over Los Angeles is amusing. Hottest place on earth due to UHI effects!

And I am thinking of moving into your neighborhood, Gail, if it doesn’t warm up soon. Still below freezing every night, not a bud on a tree nor even the earliest spring flowers in the forests or fields. Nothing.

It will be above freezing this week at night for once! Briefly, unfortunately.

Only a fool would buy a retirement home Greenland. Everyone knows that Antarctica will be the only inhabitable continent soon.

Taku Glacier Alaska pushing over live trees. I think I will take my chances in sunny North Carolina. Taku Glacier is just southeast of the city of Juneau.

MASS BALANCE MEASUREMENTS ON THE TAKU GLACIER, JUNEAU ICEFIELD, ALASKA 1946-2008 (Note the date is 2008…)

    Abstract
The annual balance record for the Taku Glacier assembled from existing JIRP data provides the longest continuous record in North America. The Taku Glacier, Alaska has advanced 7.3 km since the late nineteenth century. The thickest known alpine temperate glacier, it has a maximum measured depth of 1480 m. The Taku is a tidewater glacier that formerly calved, but is now advancing slowly over its outwash delta. The glacier had a dominantly positive mass balance from 1946-1988 and a slightly negative balance since 1988. The strongly positive balance from 1946-1988 drove a vigorous advance. The reduction is too short an interval to end this longstanding advance, but does herald a significant change that will impact the rate of advance in the near future….

Certainly doesn’t look like a ‘retreat’ to me, but I guess you have to include the CAGW get out of jail free card to get published now.

If you zoom in on the bottom right picture in the compilation you will see an extraordinary phenomenon:

The only cloud in western and south-western Greenland is streaming off the town of Nuuk to at least 50 miles across the Davis Strait.

Nuuk gets its electricity from a hydro station so the source of water vapor for the clouds can’t be from electricity consumption.

Hendriks is a very farsighted man, as he is going to be filthy rich with his prime beachfront property. Also, only just a matter of time before the Masters is moved to a much improved site at the Summit Country Club. Yes, Greenland and Antarctica are definitely the two places you want to buy!
