The fossil-fuel industry’s campaign to mislead the American people – The Washington Post

There is no question that there is racketeering going on here. The government is stealing $29 billion per year of our money to finance the biggest scientific fraud in history.

This is what Rhode Island looked like 200 years ago, before big-tobacco wrecked the climate

Unlike tobacco, the effects of CO2 seem to be overall beneficial. It looks like we are headed toward another record corn/soybean crop. Hurricanes-down. Tornadoes-down. Wildfires-down. Sea ice-above normal. No real trend with droughts and floods. No warming in 20 years. Sea level rises-trivial. Polar bears and penguins-thriving. Where are the so called “cancer deaths”? Where is the beef?

Even with the tobacco lobby straw men, the studies about smoking deaths were with heavy smokers. The tobacco lobby said smoke in moderation. Anything done to excess is bad for your health.

Senator Whitehouse seems to be as confused as the current Pope.

The Vatican was wrong to deny that the Sun is a fountain of energy that powers the solar system in 1543, and . . .

The Varican is wrong in 2015 to deny that the Sun has dominant control over the climate of every planet in the solar system.

While I do not deny that life could evolve on planets orbiting other stars, extraterrestrial humanoids was the only far-fetched part of an intriguing report that UFO sightings may have been a cover for Orwellian Big Brother:

REMEMBER the government is part and parcel in the racket due to huge taxes on tobacco.co2 would be no different.

  5. Mac says:

Senator Whitehouse is wrong. The RICO act obviously isn’t good enough to combat global warming skeptics, and is far too civilized a punishment when defending his religion. No, he and his medieval pals would be much more comfortable burning skeptics at the stake, or perhaps purifying them through pain.

The hypocrites of the left. Preaching tolerance while prosecuting or persecuting any who stand in their way. They can rationalize any action as long as it will advance their agenda. They, more than any external enemy, have been the greatest threat to liberty in this country during most of my 59+ years.

  7. pwl says:

USD$29 Billion per year for a scam, sounds very much like RICO needs to be applied to that corrupt set of organizations, those that dish out that money and those that receive it.

“A liberal’s paradise would be a place where everybody has guaranteed employment, free comprehensive healthcare, free education, free food, free housing, free clothing, free utilities, and only law enforcement has guns. And believe it or not, such a place does, indeed, already exist: it’s called Prison.”

  9. The playbook of Big Green and the Climate Industrial Complex looked something like this: (1) pay scientists to produce studies defending your product; (2) develop an intricate web of PR experts and front groups to spread doubt about the real science; (3) relentlessly attack your opponents.”

    There… Fixed it for ya.

    • Chip Bennett says:

Indeed; the irony and projection are strong with this one. In true Alinksy/progressive fashion, Senator Jackboot ascribes the behaviors of the “climate change” scammers to those who refute their fraud and pseudo-science.

The Big Tobacco playbook looked something like this: (1) pay scientists to produce studies defending your product; (2) develop an intricate web of PR experts and front groups to spread doubt about the real science; (3) relentlessly attack your opponents.

Whitey needs to look in the mirror.
      1) pay scientists to produce studies – See the NOAA purposefully using computer code (algorithms [2]) to lower historic temperatures to promote present day temperatures as the warmest on record. – See more at: http://notrickszone.com/2015/06/01/bombshell-comprehensive-analysis-reveals-noaa-wrongfully-applying-master-algorithm-to-whitewash-temperature-history/#sthash.IddWOu0V.dpuf

      2) web of PR experts and front groups – Lew and Cook and Mann and Algore come to mind. Also the caption under the picture at the WashCompost – The dome of the U.S. Capitol is seen behind the emissions, and a smokestack, from the coal-burning Capitol Power Plant, in Washington, D.C., March 10, 2014. Since it would take a massive inversion to get smoke from the stack to ground level at the base, what is pictured is steam, the other GHG

      3) relentlessly attack your opponents.- The Tea Party Patriots group has accused Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) in a formal complaint of breaking ethics rules by pressuring the administration to target conservative groups engaged in political activities. She argues the senator’s “inflammatory attacks” against conservative groups appear to constitute “improper conduct which may reflect upon the Senate,” citing the Senate’s ethics manual.

    Dear Gene,

Pro-lifers were shocked to hear news out of Colorado that a pregnant woman had been attacked and had her unborn baby Aurora cut out of her.

Tragically, the baby did not survive, yet Colorado prosecutors are refusing to bring up murder charges against the killer.

    Why you ask?

You see, baby Aurora was still eight weeks away from birth.

Colorado state law prevented charging the attacker for murder because the law stated that little Aurora was not yet “a person.”

And since the law doesn’t give little Aurora the protection of “personhood,” this killer will get off scot-free.

Colorado legislators crafted a modest bill to protect unborn babies from similar attacks in the future.

Yet the so-called “National Abortion Rights Action League” (NARAL) couldn’t stomach even the slightest restrictions on protecting unborn life.

NARAL Colorado put out a statement taking a firm stance against such “harsh penalties” on anyone who ends a pregnancy “against mothers’ wishes.”

    You read that right.

It’s not enough to the abortion lobby that mothers can choose to kill their unborn children at any time and for any reason, but killers who wish to kill an unsuspecting mother’s unborn baby should be protected too.

The abortion lobby’s radical support for abortion-on-demand knows no bounds.

    • Winnipeg Boy says:

You are on the right track. We need Andrew Jennings to spend a couple of days on this climate scam. Perhaps even the US media would publish a story from a real journalist.
It would only take a couple of days for his BS meter to ring loud.

  13. “….Will the letter “D”
    Be used to signify
    That you’ve dangerous free opinions,
    That you still won’t comply?

A “D” badge on your coat,
    No employment available,
    Not allowed to vote….”

  14. Just goes to prove that Washington DC is becoming more and more irrelevent in the realm of truth.

Gee. For all the times I was accused of being in the pay of these petrochemical companies for my own opinions about “climate change” rah, rah, rah: “You are past due! WHERE’s my money then???” Funny that it was the ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS and their ilk that were paid-for by the petrochemical companies for their political “opinions”!
