In fact, peak wind speeds have declined since Camille in 1969 and Allen in 1980, and the Atlantic is now experiencing a record hurricane drought.
Failure doesn’t stop these fraudsters. They simply ramped up their BS to 500 MPH.

If an even moderate sized (10mi diameter) asteroid hits the Earth, Kerry Emmanuel’s Hypercane will be down amongst the least of our worries!!!

Size of the body that caused the Tunguska event is estimated to have been less than 200 meters with the actual size depending on what the thing was actually made up of. The one that caused the meteor crater in Arizona formed from an object apparently made by a body that consisting of a high proportion of metal of about 50 meters.
I think a strike from even objects of that size would be world changing events and especially if they hit highly populated areas or bodies of waters near a large coastal community. At the very least such an event might open the peoples eyes up to what a REAL natural threat looks like!

BTW, it looks to me like the records indicate that no US citizen alive today has experienced a period when so few hurricanes have struck our shores.

Unfortunately, I make my living on hurricane related relief work so I’m acutely aware of the drought.
I feel like such a bad person when I root for hurricanes (“please give us one that causes a lot of damage but doesn’t hurt anyone”).
So at least I have one thing in common with the AGW schadenfreude crowd.

Why didn’t Emanuel go the whole hog and forecast hurricanes with winds breaking the sound barrier? Surely, that would be alarming – you wouldn’t be able to hear them coming.
He’s saving that one for the Paris talks!
Stop inciting them! You know there is no limit to what Emanuel can do to his spreadsheet. I’m making a note of this and when I see a supersonic hurricane scare in the Washington Post I’ll tell everyone it is Billy Liar’s fault.

I would say the climate change, that has been in part generated by humans, had taken already a big toll. So many scientists or so called scientists are launching different theories on climate change, many of them without having a solid base or showing the fact that they know little about Earth’s climate in the past. More than that, these theories costed a lot of money, spent with intention or circumstancially. I agree that humans really have to do something with climate change, but not with the small actions, but with the big ones. Silly human imagining that we creatures control the sun, the moon and the Universe. If you really think we can control the environment via reducing CO2, try not exhaling anymore. Do your bit. Thanks in advance. 🙂
I wasn’t speaking about controlling the Universe or the sun. Just about the fact that our actions, in time, over the oceans, had influenced the climate. We have been ignoring nature for a long time already. We are concerned about car gas emissions, but did we stop to think about wars in the past and about the ones in the present? About the harm we did to the land or to the oceans? Oceans have been ignored in the debate on climate change, though they play an important role! That’s my idea, this is the kind of influence I’m talking about….
