47% Increase In Arctic Sea Ice Since The 2012 Minimum

We  have just passed the date of the 2012 Arctic sea ice minimum, and the extent of ice is up 47% from that date. Green shows gain, red shows loss since 2012.

  1. Climatism says:

Reblogged this on Climatism and commented:
The fact that the Arctic has seen massive growth of sea-ice over the past three years, will not alter the pre-determined outcome at the UN’s upcoming Climate conference in Paris, that man has destroyed the Arctic, and global communism (literally) is the only way to fix it.

    Besides, the “Science is settled”.

  2. Michael J. Satterfield says:

Maybe Ed Markey should change his last name to Malarkey.

  3. Dave N says:

“Government funded experts, leading journalists, and Nobel Prize winners all say the Arctic is ice-free.”

    More like “Might be”

Still, their attitude was made it seem like it being a foregone conclusion. When they admit they were wrong, hell will freeze over. I don’t expect them to be right any time this century; quote me at will.

    • Jason Calley says:

You might have the basis for a good bumper sticker there: “The Arctic will melt when Hell freezes over!”

      • AndyG55 says:

Remember Jason. First 3/4 of the Holocene, zero Arctic sea ice was quite common,

We just happen to be living in times that are only just above the coldest in the last 10000 years.

That’s why there is still so much Arctic sea ice.

        • AndyG55 says:

didn’t finish the first sentence.. doh !

“zero Arctic sea ice was quite common, in summer months.”

        • AndyG55 says:

That’s what makes this whole Arctic sea ice nonsense so moronically stupid.

Zero sea ice has happened many times before.. in fact, probably more common than not in the summer month during the current interglacial.

The world, the Arctic, the polly beers, .. they are all still with us !!!

      • Jason Calley says:

Hey Andy! Yes, all the evidence points to an ice free Arctic each summer during much of the Holocene. I have had a few friends warn me about the supposed methane catastrophe if the Arctic melts. My response? “Well, it didn’t happen just a few thousand years ago when the Arctic melted. Why should it happen now?” Response? Disbelief.

  4. Marsh says:

A short melt season has massive implications ; “if there is another next year”,,, there could be too much ice for ships to navigate… Natural variability is proving the warmists wrong…

  5. lectrikdog says:

Yogi Bera was right! ‘The future ain’t what it used to be.’

    • Disillusioned says:

      May he rest in peace.

“You should always go to other peoples’ funerals. Otherwise they won’t come to yours”
      –Yogi Berra

      • Gary Laptosh says:

Nah, he ain’t resting. He and the rest of the Yankees from the ’50s and early ’60’s got a sandlot game going with Jesus and the Saints. Jesus-pitching, Yogi-catching…plate umpire-The Almighty.

  6. “red shows loss since 2012”
… is that why the climate extremists still say “the ice is disappearing”?

  7. Andy DC says:

The alarmists thought they had a live one when a couple of Arctic strorms chopped up the ice in August. Now the live one doesn’t seem so alive anymore, with the unusually rapid refreeze.
