Sombre mood over in the CNN climate crisis room. Not much to report other than trotting out “The Strogest Hurricane Ever Recordered” line, backed up with close-up imagery of broken glass, twigs and scattered litter.

In the nineties there was a Category 1 or 2 hurricane headed for Yuma, AZ. The town had a bunch of media types suddenly standing around on corners with a mic hyping the coming catastrophe. Alas, the hurricane went east of us and dropped a ton of rain all the way up to Phoenix. We got enough to make the streets wet for awhile. No saguaros were harmed by the tropical winds and rain. Locals just enjoyed the show, knowing full well that almost all storms up from the Baja area go east of us. We get some rain, but nothing like the soaking the desert east of us gets.

Patricia seems to be, at least partially, the result of some alarmists, many of them calling it “the strongest ever”…. How come doesn’t anyone speaks about the exceptional cyclone that hit California in 1939? A serious El Nino was also active in that time, but the phenomenon was not seriously investigated, probably due to the lack of data and information. Major damage has been done to the climate extremist cause … because without extreme climate it’s difficult to push the climate extremist religion.
It’s quite worrying that nowadays news come up before the event, and there is almost no one to report the facts afterward. Patricia will remain in history as “the worst hurricane at the time” despite no reports of severe damages caused by the wind. And if you try to prove that there were no such historical winds, you will have to manage with non existent weather records, strangely missing when the hurricane hit. The videos I saw on youtube, manzanillo during landfall, show a strong wind but not enough to forbid people to stand up. I’m guessing what the next step : a non existent hurricane, fakes radars reports and pictures ? “Cat 6 hurricane produced no major hurricane, some clouds has been reported. Tourists angry for the shadow”
