Prairie Dogging It In Colorado

I love prairie dogs. In 2011 the University of Colorado got $850,000 to study the impact of climate change on Boulder Prairie Dogs.

Never mind that the climate isn’t actually changing in Boulder, and they have nothing to study. After all, what is $850,000 of taxpayer money when you have a good scam going? Better than sending billions to Iran to build nuclear weapons.

“the climate isn’t actually changing in Boulder”

    Nor the world.

We always hear even from skeptics the politically correct point that “we all agree that the climate is changing and man contributes to that.” Who’s “we”? Don’t concede these points so easily, that’s not our job. Let the leftist climate loons work to prove the climate is changing and man is contributing to it.

Actually there’s little evidence (other than their bogus manipulated temperature data) that the climate has changed at all over the last 100 years. The 1930s were hotter in the US, and arguably it was hotter globally also in the ’30s (ie there’s been zero US climate change, and zero or near zero climate change in 100 years). Over 100 years there’s been virtually no change in temperatures, in sea level, in extreme weather. “The climate is changing.” NOT. “Man is contributing to it.” To what?

In recent decades, CO2 has gone through the roof, but there’s been practically no change in temperature. Looking at historical data going back hundreds of millions of years we see the same thing: no correlation between CO2 and temperature.

Plus, looking back hundreds of thousands of years with the ice core data we do see a correlation, but it’s the wrong way round. Changes in temperatures is what is causing changes in CO2. There’s absolutely no evidence that changes in CO2 causes changes temperature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK_WyvfcJyg&info=GGWarmingSwindle_CO2Lag

Temperature observations of reality represent truth. Their models represent lies:

As I have said many, many times, there is absolutely NO CO2 warming signature in either satellite temperature series.

All warming has come from ocean events, particularly the 1998 El Nino which cannot be related to CO2.

The recent El Nino looks like it was just a transient affect, not actually providing any longer term warming what so ever. Time will tell on that one.

Im guessing if the climate was changing in Boulder we would see a change in flora and fauna. So Boulder, yep prairie grass, a drought resistant plant- oops, same old, same old.

    • Gail Combs says:

Richard we have seen changes in flora but now in the way the ClimAstrologists want us to know.

Koppen plant boundary shifts in the Great Plains USA.

  3. Steve Case says:

That story was from 2011. Let me guess, the study isn’t complete, and they need more money.

  4. R2Dtoo says:

Studying the effect of climate change on critters over three years is a joke unless you have at least 50 years of accurate data on both climate and the critters. That is a gross amount of money for a three year study of one small area and one population of peedogs. Of course CU will get a big hunk for “overhead” and a bunch of grad students will write useless theses. I completed my PhD in Boulder between 1967-70, and could have taken the same picture back then – I know the area. The only difference I know of is that CU football was much better back then with the Anderson boys.

Alas, Tulagi on the Hill closed years ago, as did many other Boulder icons to be replaced by chains. The Buffs are coming back, however.

Black Plague ridden rodents. As long as they don’t encroach too much they are fine. But they definitely do encroach…

  6. Hartmann says:

YouTube has the “Exploding Varmints” Videos if anyone needs to study the impact of 5.56×45 bullets on prarie dogs.
