  1. Lasse says:

    Thanks.
An instructive video suitable fore the Arctic council who will meet and discuss the “problem”.

  2. AndyG55 says:

    DMI finally up to date.

Arctic temperature is now “BELOW AVERAGE”

  3. John Niclasen says:

The last almost two months compared with the previous 11 years, 2006-2016.

    • Griff says:

      No, they didn’t.

They were among the 4 lowest years on record… after being lowest over the winter.

      • gator69 says:

Ms Griff has millions of poor brown people to starve to death his year, so don’t argue with her.

      • AndyG55 says:

4 out of 38.. what a load of BS

It is still HIGHER than it has been for 90-95% of the Holocene.

Over the top of the peak period , NSIDC had 2017 was interweaving with 2016, 2015, 2006 and 2007.

MASIE had 2017 well above 2006 for most of the time and above 2011 for a lot of the time, and is now above 2016, 2007, 2009, 2015 and 2016.

Griff, you are nothing but a low-information chicken-little cockroach.

      • Stewart Pid says:

I knew that this latest video by Tony would have Griff crawl out from under whatever rock the slug lives beneath and post his usual nonsense … this time complete with lunatic like rants of thin & broken & shattered ice & of course a heaping helping of exceptionally warm and finally a death warrant on thick ice being pushed from the arctic to face it’s doom in the Atlantic … now that has never happened before … ice melting in the summer …. the sky is falling the sky is falling.
Ah Griff – I would love to view this GLO-BULL warming issue from your perspective but I simply can’t get my head that far up my arse.

    • Lasse says:

We are fighting against people who are ignorant and frighten of warming due to open sea catching more sun (in the winter!) thus causing more heated sea.
They will have to explain a lot, seeing this graph!

  4. Robertv says:

Now wine production in France could be very low this year because of freezing temperatures in spring they voted in a president who is going to combat Global Warming.

“On your behalf, I send the world’s nations the fraternal greetings of France. I say to their leaders that France will be active and mindful of peace, of the balance of power, of international cooperation, of respect for the commitments made on development and the fight against global warming.”

    • AndyG55 says:

Its quite probable that he will start to win the fight against global warming within his 3 year term.. ;-)

(or whatever number of years they use over there)

But it will be absolutely nothing to do with any taxes, islamists or wind-turbines he destroys the French economy, people or landscape with.

  5. Griff says:

All this winter the sea ice extent has been at a record low.

Now, as the melting season starts, it is only fourth lowest or so in the 37 year satellite record: and that is because the thin and broken ice shattered by winter storms and an exceptionally warm (for the arctic) winter has spread out so much.

The volume, thickness and amount of MYI over 2 years old is at record lows. Much of the thickest and oldest ice is still being pushed out into the Atlantic to melt.

This season will see another low extent record. If the melt rate is equivealent to 2012, the low will be much lower than 2012.

    • AndyG55 says:

“All this winter the sea ice extent has been at a record low.”

      LIAR !!!!

    • gator69 says:

Why do you care Ms Griff? Are poor brown people not starving to death fast enough for you?

    • AndyG55 says:

      Russian charts have “old ice”:

      37.6% above 2008
      19.5% above 2009
      7% above 2011
      21.8% above 2012
      64% above 2013,
      about equal with, 2010, 2014 and 2013
      and 12.4% above 2016.

You are a deceitful LIAR griff. A fantasy fool. !!

  6. Steve Case says:

At time mark 12:20 Tony says:

You simply can’t average temperatures together to get an accurate assessment of what’s going on with the heat in the Arctic.

That’s right, using averages when the Maximums and Minimums are known for the entire year or day as the case may be is an exercise in losing pertinent information.

As you know, the average of 49 & 51 averages out to 50 and 1 & 99 also average out to 50. Average temperatures as a measure of climate are only marginally more meaningful than the average telephone number in a phone directory.

    • Lasse says:

      LOL
Melting around and above 0 degrees are more important than freezing at -15 or -25
The outgoing heat is dominant during winter and less cold is a sign of more water in the air, water that falls out as snow thus giving the ice fresh water.
Fresh water will easy transform to ice during melting and freezing.

      • AndyG55 says:

And one heck of a lot has been falling on Greenland this year !!

        • Steve Case says:

And one heck of a lot has been falling on Greenland this year !!
I think the ice mass balance i.e., losing or gaining ice numbers are meaningless bullshit because the cause and effect (Snowfall and calving glaciers) are separated by several hundred years and have nothing to do with how warm or cold the current climate is.

    • tonyheller says:

That is a different issue than the one I was discussing in the video.
