This week in 1923, New York was experiencing extreme cold and used a record 195 million cubic feet of natural gas.

In that same issue they reported a “radical change in climatic conditions, and hitherto unheard of temperatures” in the Eastern Arctic.
“Many old landmarks are so changed as to be unrecognizable. Where formerly great masses of Ice were found. there are now often moraines. accumulations Of earth and stones. At many points where glaciers formerly extended far into the sea they have entirely disappeared.”
“formerly the waters about Spitsbergen held an even Summer temperature up to 3 degrees Celsius: this year recorded temperatures up to 15 degrees, and last Winter the ocean did not freeze I over even on the north coast of Spitsbergen.”

But last year there was ice surrounding much of Spitzbergen even during summer.
The Chicago Tribune reported the same thing in 1923.
The Arctic ocean Is growing much warmer, at least in certain parts. This has been confirmed by numerous scientific expeditions this winter. Spitzbergen is now free from all ice, and the permanent ice fields of the Greenland a have retreated 2.500 miles north of Norway.
The gulf stream, a warm current of water which rises in the Gulf of Mexico and flows northeast across the Atlantic ocean to Europe. is hotter now than usual. Its heat is attributed to the excess of solar radiation which fell, on the earth in 1920, 1921, and 1922.

According to the 1990 IPCC report, we are currently experiencing one of the coldest periods of the past 6,000 years.
There is no evidence of a climate crisis or that CO2 controls the climate, but people in Texas froze to death this week because they couldn’t get natural gas. The cold in Texas this month was not particularly unusual. Similar or colder temperatures occurred in 2011, 1996, 1989, 1982, 1948, 1933 and 1905.

People didn’t used to freeze to death in Texas because they had an adequate supply of fossil fuel power. But over the past decade Texas government wasted their efforts and money on wind power and failed to take care of their fossil fuels infrastructure. This was largely due to incompetent forecasting and fearmongering by Texas climate academics.

Instead of hot and dry, Texas got cold and wet.

Their forecasts failed, the wind turbines froze, and people did too.
One week earlier, climate alarmists were bragging about the success of wind power in Texas, and said it proved the Green New Deal would work.
But Bill Gates says that wind power works fine in cold weather in places like North Dakota. He also says that we have to eliminate all fossil fuels, and that Syrian drought is caused by fossil fuels.
People in North Dakota say that isn’t true, but Bill Gates isn’t bound by facts or reality.
This photograph is from Sweden, which most people would consider to be a cold climate.
The cold, hard truth about ice on turbine blades
Bill Gates is neither a scientist nor and engineer, yet claims that wind turbines work fine in cold climates, and that Texas should have been able to rely on wind. But this isn’t true. Green energy failed in Wyoming and Colorado for the same reasons it did in Texas – lack of wind, ice and snow. Colorado is shutting down their coal fired power plants, which were the only thing keeping the power on last week when wind and solar failed.
PRPA: Cold snap accentuates importance of energy networks – Loveland Reporter-Herald
I took these pictures on February 15 at -10F (-24C) at the coal fired Rawhide Generating Station in Northern Colorado, which is PRPA’s primary source of power. They plan to shut it down this decade. The solar panel were recently built, destroyed huge amounts of prairie and wildlife habitat, and were non functional in the cold and snow.
Shutting down coal in Colorado is a strategy for disaster, and the key is at the bottom of the article.
“The solution to situations such as this past weekend and what could occur in future years as PRPA and other utilities shut down coal-fired plants will be tapping into larger networks.”
Colorado is shutting down their reliable supply of fossil fuels, and banking on other states like Wyoming being more responsible and bailing Colorado out in an emergency. That is very risky and dangerous strategy and will likely end in disaster sooner rather than later.
Ten years ago, wind farms in Scotland failed in record cold due to a lack of wind, which typifies conditions under cold Arctic air in the mid-latitudes.
Wind energy also fails during the hottest days of summer.

Bill Gates says drought in Syria is caused by people in Texas trying to keep from freezing to death. But Syria has always had droughts. In 1933, experts blamed the droughts on YoYos, which is no more ridiculous than Bill Gates superstitions.
23 Jan 1933 – YO-YO BANNED IN SYRIA – Trove
The real problem in Syria is that US dependence on Middle East oil gives the Military Industrial Complex an excuse to keep bombing them. I have been pointing this out for years.
And it only took five weeks for the Biden administration to prove me correct.
Other countries have figured out that green energy is a disaster, and are reversing course.

Bill Gates pretends to be an expert on a great many topics. Because he has lots of money he is able to buy huge amounts of influence and air time, and never allows his ideas to be challenged in public. He holds monologues, not debates. This corruption threatens the health and well being of hundreds of millions of Americans.
