It isn’t just the US temperatures which have been corrupted by NASA and NOAA, but they have done the same thing for the entire planet
As of 1975, the Northern Hemisphere’s past was much warmer during the 1940s than it is now. The animation below flashes between the 1975 National Academy of Sciences data in blue, and the current NASA data in red. The baseline periods are not identical, but what is interesting is that the years from 1900 to 1960 got colder, while the post 1960 years got warmer.
The next animation flashes between the 1999 NASA US temperature graph, and the 2014 version.
They publish no disclaimers or explanations with these graphs, and almost every successive year the past gets even colder than it was previously – and the present gets even warmer than it was previously.
President Kennedy said man should walk on the moon, and NASA did that. President Obama said the globe should warm, and NASA did that too.

In addition to the unexplained “presto-chango and abracadabra” alterations to the data, we know with certainty that a majority of the recording sites are substandard, with known warming biases because of pavement, air conditioners, automobiles, jet engines, etc.
It is bizarre. The CAGW crowd tells us that the warming is not merely “robust.” They say that we are in such a strong warming spell that is is catastrophic, literally threatening life on Earth with mass extinction events. They also say that the trend cannot be measured or properly reported without obscure and technical adjustments to what the thermometers were seen to read. At the same time, they tell us that it does not matter whether the thermometers are at an airport full of heated jet exhaust.
If it rains in the Atacama Desert, I can understand two meteorologist arguing about whether it was .02 inches or .03 inches. What we have here are climatologists telling us that we are being swept away in a gigantic flood, a flood so large that its equal has never been seen — but that the water can only be noticed if we use a scale in millimeters that has been compensated for thermal expansion of the alloy.
This does not pass a sanity test. Incompetent? No. Lying.
You need to post the individual images side by side, rather than share an animated GIF. A lot of people have animations turned off in the browser, thanks to annoying ads.
As I contact many scientists working in a climate related field, I get amazed at how much they are lacking in knowledge in all but their specific area of expertise (those that do not brush me off)
The colleges and universities in my area as well as the local media accept the CAGW line as absolute truth and will not even consider other possibilities. For instance the university brings in only speakers with a specific bias. I am one of only two or three that write in the local major newspaper (serves about 50,000 to 75,000) as a skeptic or is that Holocaust Denier, a member of the Fringe Element. So far, my house has not been damaged!!
However, I have been told by a few sort of lukewarmers that a few of their colleagues are getting nervous and are kind of hoping for a little warming. It will be very interesting in a few years when the sixth IPCC report comes out if ‘the pause’ remains or perhaps better still, there is a little cooling.
But then, Steve would be writing more about soccer. (and some politicians) ____Incidentally, I hope Hillary keeps talking, she may be talking herself out of a run at the presidency.

Hillary has an on going problem with blood clotting when she fails to take her prescribed anti-coagulants too. I think she should take her remaining time and spend with her family. She’s going to be a granny soon. Grandmas (and pops) can be an important influence on young children – they can afford to spoil the child unlike the parents (usually).

Watching the back and forth on this can really make one crazy.
I think all that is necessary to know something is seriously screwed up is the constant adjusting of data from long ago. To me there is no reason that 80 year old data needs to be changed/adjusted so much. This just opens things up to human biases/influence.
If we can’t all agree on what the temp record for 1934 is, whether it be perfect/imperfect/right/wrong or whatever, the whole stinking thing is a joke. The temps in 1934 should not be allowed to be changed as some unseen government employee sees fit then disappear the previous records.
Oh, and it seems that there is always a built in adjustment for every data set, be it ice, sea level, temps, etc. This always allows those in control of the data to tell a story instead of presenting the data. Very convenient.
This is the point that the micro math folks that just want to get lost in the forest of statistics do not seem to get. I don’t want to hear anymore bs about methods of mashing numbers together. Tell me why the incredibly high temps from the 1930s to 1940s seem to not hold up and I am constantly told that last month/year/whatever was hotter, when the only way they can do that is by homogenization/adjustment/infilling/whatever.
