Top Climate Alarmist Is An Electrical Engineer

The White House led press mafia is attacking me for having geology and electrical engineering degrees. While I doubt any of them would survive one week in electrical engineering grad school, what is really entertaining is that one of their favorite alarmists is also an electrical engineer.

Over at NASA, ice scientist Eric Rignot said the melting “is going way faster than anyone had thought. It’s kind of a red flag.”

I wrote to him to inform him that the missing ice is in Massachusetts Bay. But he doesn’t listen to me, either.

How on Earth does a guy get through the math and logic required for an EE degree or two, work in a field that requires daily use of the math and physics relating to radiation and energy transfer but still be ignorant enough to believe the myths that support the CAGW scam? Are UCLA and USC really that bad at teaching engineering fundamentals or was the original damage done in France?

    • He works for the government. No skill or accuracy required or desired.

      • pyeatte says:

The only skill for working for the government is the “correct” political standing where Lysenkoism thrives.

        • Derrick Collier P.E. says:

Having designed net zero facilities and other facilities that meet all the current EISA, EPACT, Ashrae 90.1, etc requirements as a government employee and an EE I can assure you that your statement is incorrect. Try to meet these standards and a budget as an engineer and you will find that they ring very hollow. Nobody wants to pay for it, but it can be done. I, like every person on the planet want to see less pollution in our environment but as an engineer always weighing the cost. I am old enough to see what has happened since the early 70’s and am impressed with the outcome. I do not agree with the current AGW alarmist since primarily their “settled science” is based on models of theoretical climate change based on an increase of a trace gas in our atmosphere. I have built models and use them all the time as a very useful tool but they were always based on proven physical science not theories. How could I go to a client as an engineer and tell them not to build due to theory that is not proven in any way. I personally don’t know of any engineers that buys the whole line of AGW theory based on the weak science it came from. I am of the opinion that people who confuse AGW theory with science are those who have a minimal mathematical background and confuse observed science such as with medical improvements and evolution with mathematical theory totally unproven till observed.

Rignot was featured in this weeks HBO show Vice where they tried to discredit skeptics as deniers and had footage from ICCC9. https://youtu.be/_h92Ath_2XA

I watched that video. I’m trying to understand why the scientists that are concerned about the western antarctic ice sheet fly a 4 engine jet over it every day to gather info. Every day.

I’m pretty sure it’s not a solar plane, and I’m curious as to what the exhaust might be doing to the ice in the area. Then there were vehicle tracks in the snow surface, so they’re driving around there too. It just makes me scratch my head.

My husband often tells me that there’s a way to tell someone to go to hell and have them thank you for it. When I saw those protesters in the video I got the impression they’re asking for a more inconvenient, meager life and thanking the government for it. A good job in brainwashing.

What is his pay grade and who pays it?
And what extra income does he get and from where?.

For some people, those are the only relevant questions.

  4. Psalmon says:

With all due respect to actual scientists, I’d rather be credited as an Engineer.

If Climate experts designed skyscrapers, they’d be falling down all over the world.
If climate experts designed engines, they’d be less reliable than Yugos.
If climate experts designed HVAC systems, they’d be breaking constantly.
If climate experts designed computer models, they’d be faulty 95-98% of the time..

      Oh, wait…

So called “climate science” has almost advanced to equal that of phrenology in 1850.

      • Ronald says:

Heinlein put that an elephant is mouse built to government specifications. They want to overdesign to a level nothing is built and what is built has cost overruns, delays, and never meets the intended goal.

      • gregole says:

Climastrologists don’t do forecasts – I’ve heard them referred to as scenarios. What might one ask is the difference between a scenario and a forecast? I certainly don’t know. But whatever these charlatans do, it has nothing to do with design of anything!

  5. Doctors are to medical scientists as engineers are to physical scientists.

Now, if you think your child as a fever, do you call a medical scientist or a doctor?
So if you think the planet has a fever why on earth would you contact a physical scientist and not an engineer who’s trained to deal with systems.
(I’m also a scientist, engineer, have designed, built & repaired temperature control equipment, have installed and monitored meteorological equipment – but somehow these media studies journalists don’t believe I’m qualified to diagnose whether there is a problem with the temperature control system of the earth).

  6. D. Self says:

An engineer? Very few of my coworkers have fallen for the AGW scam.

  8. I live in Australia and therefore check conditions in Antarctica almost every other day using Nullschool Earth.
The temperatures in Antarctica including the peninsula, have not been above zero this SUMMER.
So this clown does not even appear to be aware of the melting point of ice!

There is a certain beauty in someone having a science and an arts degree, like our host. I did electronics 40 years ago and I was lambasted when I did a second degree in History. But it was a neat move imho. Gives a certain amount of balance, and a well rounded world view

This is the reality which is the S. Ocean is below normal in temperature and Antarctic Sea Ice is above normal ,while the continent of ANTARCTICA is showing no warming.

  13. Andy DC says:

How many college degrees do you need to look at raw temperature data and compare it to the highly irrational, warm biased “adjusted” BS that is being put out by so called “climate scientists”? That somehow ends up matching their agenda? Maybe an 8th grade education? It is more about intellectual curiousity and common sense than number or type of college degrees.
