It has been -30C in the Arctic for four months, and The Times thinks the ice is shrinking.
Arctic ice extent is as high or higher than 2005 and 2006, the two years with the highest summer minimums of the past decade. Arctic ice has stabilized at 2005/2006 levels.
As always, the press is happy to parrot propaganda which they understand nothing about.
“On average, skeptics got about 4.5 questions correct, whereas manmade warming believers got about 4 questions right.”
http://www.foxnews.com/science/2015/02/12/study-global-warming-skeptics-know-more-about-climate-science/
AND the ‘Correct Answers’ to many of the questions are flat out WRONG!
If it was an essay test the average, skeptic would do much better.
AOL which carries Hufpo news on it’s homepage shows a dead and decaying polar bear carcass as a link to an article which reports this selfsame guff.
I have been meaning to change my IP for some time – this is just the impetus I needed!
I didn’t know AOL was even still going/
I’ve had AOL since I first began going on the internet, somewhere around 1994. Back then internet was dial up and AOL was how I got online, paid by the hour, boy was hubby pissed when the bill came in each month. I have the same email address all these years. I’m a dinsosaur.
This made me laugh on the BBC website also

As you know I am no sceptic, but where has the BBC been to report on the record Antarctic sea ice extents? Report on both and give scientists views on both please !!
Ice extent has no influence on summer minima as you say.
In the Arctic the georgraphy of the land plays a large role and weather/sea temp on Atlantic and Pacific “gaps” in the land. In general it’s just not as interesting as the summer max.
