Flashback To 2008 : Candidates Views On Global Warming

Of the four candidates, only one gave an intelligent answer. No wonder the press hated her.

OBAMA : (Clueless. Arrogant. Straw man argument)

we’re not going to be able to deal with the climate crisis if our only solution is to use more fossil fuels that create global warming.

MCCAIN : (Clueless : Bragging about failure)

And I introduced the first legislation, and we forced votes on it. That’s the good news, my friends. The bad news is we lost. But we kept the debate going, and we kept this issue to — to posing to Americans the danger that climate change opposes.

BIDEN : (Clueless. Inarticulate. Repetitious. Blames America First)

Well, I think it is manmade. I think it’s clearly manmade. And, look, this probably explains the biggest fundamental difference between John McCain and Barack Obama and Sarah Palin and Joe Biden — Governor Palin and Joe Biden. If you don’t understand what the cause is, it’s virtually impossible to come up with a solution. We know what the cause is. The cause is manmade. That’s the cause. That’s why the polar icecap is melting. Now, let’s look at the facts. We have 3 percent of the world’s oil reserves. We consume 25 percent of the oil in the world.

PALIN : (Thoughtful, intelligent and correct)

But there are real changes going on in our climate. And I don’t want to argue about the causes. What I want to argue about is, how are we going to get there to positively affect the impacts? We have got to clean up this planet. We have got to encourage other nations also to come along with us with the impacts of climate change, what we can do about that.

  1. James Sexton says:

What is absolutely the most hilarious part of the retrospective, is considering McCain was/is a Rhino/lukewarmista, Palin would most likely have been relegated to irrelevance. Today, she’s doing more to bring down the status quo than she ever could under the shadow of McCain and the likely lame duck term he would be in if he’d won the election. Ahhh, the pain of unintended consequences! HAHAHAHAHA

  2. MikeTheDenier says:

I like Palin but I wish she could rid herself of that shrill voice, and learn to speak in clear, uncluttered sentences. I doubt she has any chance in 2012 but will support her if she manages to become the nominee.

    • Like umm… umm… make no mistake … um… Obama?

    • James Sexton says:

Mike, I could be wrong, but I don’t think she’s going to run in 2012. She’d have a huge stereo-type to overcome. What she’s doing now, though, is inflicting great damage to the left by motivating the conservatives, (with great help of team Obowa), and having them turn out in numbers we haven’t seen since 1980 and the country’s rejection of Jimmy(kill the wabbit) Carter!

    Lengthy, but funny……..

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote pasture when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust.

The driver, a young man in a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes, RayBan sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, “If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, Will you give me a calf?”

Bud looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, “Sure, Why not?”

The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his Cingular RAZR V3 cell phone, and surfs to a NASApage on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.

The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany.

Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response.

Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer, turns to the cowboy and says, “You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves.”

“That’s right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves,” says Bud.

He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.

Then Bud says to the young man, “Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?”

The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, “Okay, why not?”

“You’re an aide in the Obama Administration”, says Bud.

“Wow! That’s correct,” says the yuppie, “but how did you guess that?”

“No guessing required.” answered the cowboy. “You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don’t know a thing about how working people make a living – or about cows, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep. …

Now give me back my dog.

  4. PhilJourdan says:

Now you know the real reason the power in Washington hate Palin. It has nothing to do with her positions. It has everything to do with breaking up the power in DC. And that they cannot abide – R or D.

  5. DopeyChangey says:

    Sexton, that is really funny!

Let’s face it, this issue is very complex. There are few individuals who can successfully argue the details. So skeptical politicos are relegated to skirting the issue in favor of economic arguments.

In just the last two years, many conservatives have had access to a great education on this issue, due to Steve and others. Even McCain is backtracking.

Gore was obviously the choice in 2000 for those hoping for Carbon Trading… so they could rape this country. When Bush became President, who ran against him in 2004? None other than Kerry/Lieberman – authors of the recent climate bill. In 2008, All serious contenders for Prez were warming believers, and BHO was a former board member of the Joyce Foundation, part owner of the CCX.

Giant sums of money (foreign and domestic) to fund a Presidency, want Crap n Charade so they can bleed this country dry. The awakening of the GOP just maybe can turn this boat away from the abyss.

MY VIEW -A Vote For A Liberal Democrat Is A Vote For United Nations Control Of America
    By Jerry McConnell Full Story
Please! Fellow citizens, do not give the corrupt, power-mad liberals more time in Congress—their goal is to destroy our Constitution, and our Country and be ruled by United Nations tyrants.

And this message is also for the other members of the Democratic Party that do not necessarily believe in the unorthodox methods and beliefs of their three radical leaders, Obama, Pelosi and Reid. Many are good Americans, like my father, who believed in America first and Party second. If his choice was to vote with his Party for a program that would saddle our country with huge debt and taxes on our citizens just to say that they could do it, he would vote against it. Those kind of Democrats are rare today.

Dwight D. Eisenhower once stated that democracy was only possible with a well informed electorate.

Today we have a serious problem that will make it very difficult to win (any) battle.
Just read this article and cry.

      R., worry not.

As a Kansas resident, and a worker in the energy industry, I can tell you, with the exception of conservation and patriotism, the article is FOS. Though, it will be fun for me to print this out and display it! We’ve been conservationists way before the east and left coasts ever got on the bandwagon. As far as the rest of the tripe, Sunflower energy has been trying to open a coal plant in western Kansas for some years. The overwhelming majority of both populace and legislature has supported it. Only Sebelius, then governor, and now Sec. of Health and Human services and her veto, and now the EPA has thwarted the construction. They aren’t going to turn Kansans into a bunch of libtards anytime soon. We learned, the problem with Ike was that he was too damned nice.

I’ve volumes more to say on this subject and maybe I’ll write an article myself about it(or maybe a book), but not to worry, the legacy of Ike is alive and well in Kansas.

  8. bruce says:

    thanks for the laugh, James.

As for Palin, I like her well enough but know she needs twenty years to become more Thatcher like. when she can be stern with the bums she will be ready.

    • suyts says:

NP! Yes, she tried to be nice during the last election. I assert, she’s doing more good right now than what she would be doing if they were to have won with McCain. He’s never impressed me as a political. And the American populous would have never woke up to the liberal intentions. Sad, we had to go this low to understand we’ve got quite a ways to go before we can get up.

      • R. de Haan says:

All Palin needs to get more Thatcher like is the Thatcher hand bag with a brick in it and some coaching from… Lord Monckton.

  9. Amino says:

OT, but related to President Obama:

Supreme Court justice Samuel Alito will not attend next State of the Union:

The justice said the annual speech to Congress has become very political and awkward for the justices, who he says are expected to sit “like the proverbial potted plant.”
