McKitten Speaks For The Planet – But No One Is Listening

“I think I missed the part where they discussed the Arctic melting,” the environmentalist and author Bill McKibben recently quipped.

A tireless spokesman for a planet in rapid and, as he sees it, dangerous flux, McKibben had taken to his Twitter account in the aftermath of last week’s presidential debate and, like many other Americans, he found the whole affair wanting — though his reasons were singular. “Wasn’t there some kind of drought or something this summer?” he continued. “Maybe I’m misremembering.”

In the clipped and sardonic vernacular of the medium, he ended his Tweets “#oh-that.”

McKibben was, of course, referring to climate change. His exasperation echoes a wider movement that by now has grown not just weary, but vaguely astounded at the lack of high-level dialogue on a topic that, as they see it, fundamentally influences — and therefore ought to trump — all others, particularly at a time when the nation is preparing to elect a president.

    The one world AGW movement is nearly identical to that of the Islamists. They both believe that if they put the right people in charge, and get rid of the wrong people, that they can then create Heaven on Earth. No droughts or famine. No floods or wars. No disease and no poor. That is both why both are so very blind to the truth, it is a religious fervor.

    The Islamists want a Caliphate, and the Alarmists want a Climaphate.

    Meanwhile in the Arctic the sea ice recovery continues apace as last year’s extent trace is crossed. Hide the incline!!!!!!!!

    The alarmist climateers like Romm and McKitten need to, as climate ‘expert’ Michael Tobis phrases it, STFU about The Dear Leader’s lack of action on CACC.

    The president should claim credit for smashing down carbon sewage by:
    – doubling the price of gasoline;
    – clamping down on Keystone XL;
    – drowning oil, coal, nuclear and natural gas in regulatory muck;
    – driving down employment to smash down consumption;
    – chiding vacationers who visit Vegas or Hawaii;
    – driving down US births of carbon filth generators from 4.32M in 2007 to 3.95M in 2011.

    The president should also be bragging about slowing the rise of the oceans and healing the planet.

    US 2012 JFMA carbon emissions for energy fell back to 1992 levels, thanks to a *warm* winter.
    Sea level- Gore=3.3mm/y, Bush=2.7mm/y, Obama=1.8mm/y
    Global temperature- Gore: +0.34C/dec, Bush: -0.12C/dec, Obama: -0.45C/dec
    Hurricanes- ACE globally dropped since 2006, stayed flat, FL free of major hurricane since AIT
    Sea ice- Antarctic is setting all-time record highs.

    And most importantly, he has staved off the climate change induced death of 4.5 billion people that was dead-certain to occur by the end of his first term in office.

    The Dear Leader has a stellar report card based on observational trends during His first of many terms guiding the proletariat to the promised land of social justice.

    FORWARD, Proletarians!
    Comrades, we have come too far to turn back now!

    Gee Bill, haven’t there been three record cold waves and snowfalls since July? Maybe I’m misremembering.

      Desperate Climate Scientists Blame Bad Weather On Global Warming.

      How desperate can one get? Well very desperate indeed when you’re Climate Scientists or a climate activist and the weather does not play ball with your research.

      After decades of debunking and statements by responsible scientists, that climate is not weather and individual anomalies are not an indication of climate change, the government funded IPCC lackeys at the UK’s Met Office and America’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have publicly attributed recent bad weather events to man-made climate change. These irresponsible boffins’ shrill claims illustrate the desperation in the anthropogenic global warming (AGW) camp in the face of declining public concern over climate change. While admitting that it is impossible to blame a single event on global warming, climate alarmists are claiming attribution is possible as long as it is framed in terms of probability. They have gone from lies, to damn lies and now, finally, to statistics.

      Moreover, some activist are even wanting and hoping for more extreme weather discomfort that will make crops fail along with power cuts in the hope that it changes the minds of people, to these people it’s all worth it in the end. It hasn’t crossed their minds that what we are seeing at the moment is what has happened throughout the ages, Oh no all they can see is that all that they have fought for over the years is all falling apart and that public opinion for what they stand for has been dropping dramatically. So they resort and want a more drastic approach. And how disgusting is that.

    Mr. McKitten has also conveniently forgotten that periodic drought is a normal and natural occurence, regardless of CO2 levels. Among the pantheon of historic droughts, last summer’s was pretty ordinary.

    Gotta love the competence of any “scientist” that claims melting sea ice has any impact on sea level rise – in the same manner melting ice causes your glass to overflow.

    How do these people get their doctorates – even an undergraduate degree – when they are either outright liars or do not understand primary school science ?

    Did no one tell them water expands on freezing ??

    Water is fabulous stuff – just considering its properties has to make one wonder how any “scientist” could consider an inert gas with unremarkable properties could be significant in any manner is beyond me. Surface tension, latent heat, high heat capacity, freezes from the top down, is the source of most weather events, hydrogen bonding, polar bonds, almost universal solvent etc etc – “greenhouse gases” – bah humbug !

    Oh – and don’t mention the elephant in the room – the Antarctic ! I don’t know but I assume the total amount of sea ice in the world is about what it has always been – maybe even a bit more.

    All the photos I’ve seen indicate that McKibben oughta get a life away from climate “science” and activism – it can’t be good for his health and blood pressure – remember excess blood pressure can cause kidney failure – the silent killer – so watch your blood pressure !
