“Recent severe winters like last year’s or the one of 2005-2006 do not conflict with the global warming picture, but rather supplement it,” explained Vladimir Petoukhov, lead author of the study and a physicist at the Potsdam Institute.
“These anomalies could triple the probability of cold winter extremes in Europe and north Asia,” he said.
The researchers created a computer model simulating the impact on weather patterns of a gradual reduction of winter ice cover in the Barents-Kara Sea, north of Scandinavia.

I don’t have a horse in this race, but for at least the last 4 winters in a row here in Gardiner, MT (ele. 5280) we haven’t had a hard frost until well into October. As of today the ground still is not frozen. We received rain all day yesterday and this is December.

Gardiner has no official recording station so some weather sites take the reading from Lake Yellowstone which is at abut 7,800 feet and some just south of Livingston which is about 50 miles away. NOAA takes it from close to Jardine which is about 8,438 feet in elevation. So those numbers I am guessing are from close to Livingston which is about 600 to 800 feet lower in elevation. I have lived here for nearly 30 years and the first hard frost has always been in September except for the last few years.
We had a five year run of really warm summers, where I could swim every afternoon after work. The last few years have been too cold to do that. It’s called weather.

Since 1970 there has been no trend whatsoever in Oct mean temp for Montana. In fact, the two coldest October’s have occurred in the past 10 years.

A scientific field is immature when papers get published within months of each other which have contradictory conclusions. This happens a lot in climate science.

I spoke to an individual today who has to move his sewer pipe 1 metre to where it legally should have gone in the first place, as it can’t stay where it is. He told me he couldn’t move it. I asked him why. He told me that it would undermine the structural foundations of his neighbour’s home. I pointed out that the pipe would traverse 1 metre, was located in the bottom corner of the lot, the neighbour’s home was 15 metres away, built on a cement slab, and further supported by large concrete footings. How would the neighbour’s home risk collapse?
The reply was: “Well my plumber has 35 years of experience, he knows what he is talking about.”

When do we accept that it has nothing to do with climate. That it is all about gaining power. Climate is just one of the many tools they use to achieve their goal. Their aim is that people voluntarily accept slavery.

One of our Aussie CSIRO “scientists” at Doha has said today that the global temp will rise 6 degrees C by 2100. The aussie news blogs went into meltdown, pun intended, with panic. “The Carbon Tax will save us”!! What a complete bunch of morons.

Hey look. I’m going to have to point out that in a few months around July, the temperature is going to warm up dramatically. Also, because of the position of the earth to the sun Weather patterns seem to change as time goes by. Various measurements by scientist have proven this. A relative distance to the sun/global warming tax might need implemented. Also because of the seemingly warming caused by earth rotation, it could cause another cold spell to manifest as time goes on. More money for research is really needed on this subject.
