The IPCC – the international body of scientists analyzing global climate change – is releasing its new report in stages over the next week and this early piece was reported on by the Financial Times on Monday. Under the headline “Climate Change Chief Sounds Alert on Himalayan Glaciers,” the opening sentence of the article by Pilita Clark summarizes a very tightly:
“The glaciers of the Himalayas are melting so fast they will affect the water supplies of a population twice that of the US within 22 years, the head of the world’s leading authority on climate change has warned.”

Apparently Pauchuri doesn’t think that he did enough damage to the reputation of the IPCC the last time round, and is going for a repeat performance.
Glaciers melt and glaciers grow.
Why don’t they build a dam to store the water for the dry season like we do here in California?
There will always be precipitation, frozen or otherwise.
They will never run out of water if they manage it properly.
This is just more bullshit from CAGW Religion Bible Thumpers.
They could just move a few feet inland so their feet stay dry.
Or just step up on a rock.
How did mankind survive all these years anyway?
There wouldn’t be much melt in winter & in the monsoon there’s water everywhere so melt water would get swamped by rain anyhow.

We had a TV news BS story a couple of years ago here.
Claiming the Himalayas were melting in Winter. It turned out it really was Spring. Not Winter and it was just a bit of the usual thaw/ runoff that just happens every Spring and it was nothing out of the usual. Except they tried to lie and claim it was Winter.
Eco-worriers try to justify the glacier-melt claim as a not surprising mistake because the IPCC reports are full of thousands of facts so it’s normal to expect a few to be in error. To which I’ve sometimes pointed out, if you’re claiming more than a half billion people are at risk of death, wouldn’t you more carefully fact check this particular claim? Well, not if your an IPCC lead author, apparently.
So India will be a desert if the glaciers in the himalaya melt. It never rains in India. What people don’t realize about all this is that IPCC stands for I propagandize credulous cretins.
The recycling of the same old debunked alarmist lies produced by an official UN Institution that claims it only brings the “Gold Standard in Scientific Climate Research” is not only an insult to our intelligence.
It completely destroys the trust people have, not only in her political bodies, the integrity of her officials and her objectives but also in the trust of the establishment associated with the UN.
This also affects the man and women participating peace and relief missions wearing the UN uniform.
This really is a very serious subject as the UN claims to be a leading entity in matter beyond world politics, war and peace.
The UN, all her related institutions and NGO’s must realize that they receive most of their funding from through the tax contributions and donations from the very people they deceive so cowardly.
We have arrived at a point in time where the UN performance on so many fields has become a great disappointment, a charade and if there is no improvement thee will be grave consequences since the public voices to defund the UN and remove her offices from US soil has become louder and louder.
After watching yet another Pauchari dog and pony show people are not only bored.
They are fed up with the UN and the entire establishment.

Ah. I see the IPCC is going for the old, “eat your dinner; there are staving kids in India that would be happy to have that” routine.
Hundreds of Millions of people will die of natural and unnatural causes over the next 25 years. Global Warming is made up of partly natural and partly unnatural causes, therefore Hundreds of millions of people will die of global warming related cuases over the next 25 years.
Is there something wrong with my logic here?

I wouldn’t believe a website like this truth-out.org. For a moment, I thought I was reading The Onion, just that this alarmism wasn’t a bit funny.
