Another Fake Excuse From Climate Alarmists
Zeke Hausfather claims that my US temperature statistics are skewed by “changing station composition.” His argument is that changes over time in the mean latitude of the set of USHCN stations, affects the data. Zeke says the data has to be adjusted to compensate.
That is easy to test out, by comparing a stable set of stations with the set of all stations. The green line below is the set of all 1218 USHCN stations. The red line consists of the 695 stations which were active in both 1917 and 2016 – thus little change in latitude.
As you can see, changes in station composition have very little effect. The 1930’s were much hotter. Just one more excuse for climate alarmists to tamper with data, and make the hot 1930’s disappear.

More Trouble Ahead For Climate Alarmists
Climate experts promised us an ice-free Arctic in 2017, but with cold weather forecast over the Beaufort Sea in a week, and only 60 days left to the melt season, that might be rough.

Greenland has reached their hottest days of summer, and only need 22C warming to start melting at the center of the ice sheet.
Popular Science says Greenland is having a meltdown at -22C.

Greenland’s surface has actually gained a near record amount of ice this year, and the ice is melting very slowly this summer.

America’s Hottest July 4 – 1911
It was so hot on July 4, 1911 that people were committing suicide to escape the heat.
04 Jul 1911, Page 1 – The Scranton Republican
More than one third of US HCN stations were over 100F on July 4, 1911. The four hottest July 4th’s were 1911, 1936, 1901 and 1934.
The frequency of 100 degree weather on July 4th has dropped over the last century, with 100 degree weather becoming quite rare since CO2 hit 350 PPM in 1988.
For the entire year, the frequency of hot weather has dropped even more sharply. Ninety degree days are much less common than they were a century ago.
One hundred degree days are also becoming much less common.
One hundred degree temperatures reached coast to coast on July 4, 1911.
Most of the stations in Maine reached 102 degrees on that date. Massachusetts reached 106 degrees.
Almost the entire Midwest was over 100 degrees.
Compare vs. 2016 (the official hottest year eve) when there was very little hot weather in the US.
Meanwhile, we are being bombarded with endless lies about heatwaves. As with all things climate, the press is reporting the exact opposite of what is occurring.

The Incredible Heatwave Of July 3, 1911
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on him not understanding it”
– Upton Sinclair
July 3 used to be a hot day in the US, but July 3 temperatures have plummeted over the past century. The last really hot July 3 was in 1990.
On this date in 1911, the US experienced 100 degree temperatures from California to Maine. Seventy one percent of US HCN stations were over 90 degrees, and 28 percent were over 100 degrees.
It was 105 degrees at Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Today’s forecast maximum is 80 degrees. Portage, Wisconsin was 105 degrees. Today’s forecast high is 80 degrees. Chazy, NY was 104 degrees. Today’s forecast high is 76 degrees.
July 4, 1911 was the hottest day on record during the longest heatwave on record at Lewiston, Maine.
Climate experts continue to lie about heat waves, because their income depends on lying about climate.
