Follow The Money To Alaska

Richard Boone of Science Business magazine writes from his warm office in California,  that Alaska winters are getting very warm, and it is your fault.

Warmer winters have a cascading effect in Alaska. “The impacts have been profound,” said Boone. “And the state has found itself unprepared.

Alaska is a case study on the perils of ignoring global warming – Science|Business

People who live in Alaska have a different opinion. They say the Alaskan winter was too cold.

It’s so cold in Alaska that even Alaskans are complaining. Temperatures reached as low as 59 degrees below zero in parts of Alaska on Jan. 18, 2017

“I want to leave,” Cynthia Erickson of Tanana, Alaska, told the Associated Press. “My teeth are frozen to my lips.” “It’s just miserable,” Erickson added. “I hate everybody who lives in a warm place.”

Jan. 19, 2017

On March 4, the fake news Guardian said the Iditarod was suffering from insufficiently wintry conditions.

Temperatures in Alaska were actually far below normal on March 4, as they were on 30 out of 31 days last month.

Every location in Alaska except two were below normal temperature during March, with Fairbanks 14 degrees below normal.

Temperatures in Fairbanks this year have been averaging more than twenty degrees cooler than 1981.

Global warming is a business, not a science. Keeping the scam alive brings in billions of dollars a year to research institutions.

NASA : Solving Global Warming By Moving To Saturn

NASA believes that a 0.0001 change in atmospheric CO2 will destroy all life on earth.

But not to worry, NASA says we can move to one of Saturn’s moons and live there. Carbon taxes on Saturn have been very effective.

Work For The City Of Boulder : Intelligent People Need Not Apply

Colorado Public Radio boldly states that Boulder’s climate has warmed two degrees, and the climate is becoming like Albuquerque. Plus the City of Boulder has a “climate action tax.”

How ‘Resilience’ Became Part Of Cities’ Climate Change Plans | CPR

Had anyone at the city bothered to do any fact checking before ripping off the citizenry, they would have known that Boulder temperatures peaked over 60 years ago, and the city is receiving considerably more precipitation  now.

Albuquerque is desert. Boulder has much more vegetation. The climate here is nothing like Albuquerque, and if any change is occurring it is getting greener here in Boulder. And what special kind of stupid does it take to believe that a tax in Boulder influences the climate?

Ignorance Is Strength

At the CU World Affairs Conference Kerry Emanuel showed this graph of climate model hurricane intensity forecasts out to the year 2100. Some models predicted intensity going down, others predicted it going up a lot. But he said not to confuse uncertainty with ignorance, and then gave one of the standard 70% of doctors say blah blah blah …. BS arguments. Intensity may go up, or it may go down – i.e. settled science.

So I asked him about his 2005 forecast that major hurricanes would increase, and subsequent record low number of major hurricanes since 2005. He agreed that it has been very low, but said “(he) was talking about the whole world, not just the US or the Atlantic.

After the event was over, I asked him about reports that Southern Hemisphere cyclones have been declining for 20 years and are at a record low. He responded with “some models predicted that.

So basically, he was talking about the whole world except for the Southern Hemisphere, the Atlantic or the US. Then I told him that I was good friends with Bill Gray, who had a very different point of view. He said he missed Bill and they agreed on some things. Emanuel was very pleasant and cordial, and we left it at that.

US hurricanes peaked in 1886 at below 300 PPM CO2, and have been declining ever since.

Top MIT Junk Scientist In Boulder Tomorrow

Twelve years ago, Kerry Emanuel of MIT predicted an increase in major hurricanes.

Increasing destructiveness of tropical cyclones over the past 30[thinsp]years : Abstract : Nature

The US hasn’t had a major hurricane for almost twelve years, the longest such period on record. Because of his incompetence, Emanuel has been chosen to speak about hurricanes and global warming induced natural disasters at the CU World Affairs Conference tomorrow, at the Walter Orr Roberts Distinguished Lecture.

Walter Orr Roberts is well known for his predictions during the 1970’s that global cooling would lead to an increase in natural disasters “unstable climate, crop losses, food losses and death by starvation.

So the symptoms of global warming and global cooling are apparently identical.  And if this isn’t enough of a clown show already, Emanuel is ashamed to be an American because climate skeptics have called him out on his junk science.

I hope to attend this junk science lecture tomorrow and inject some factual information into their BS.

Four Moon Night

There are four moons in this picture. One on the lower left, and three in the upper right.

Zooming in, we can see Jupiter and three of his moons.

And of course our moon.

Hundreds of years ago, sailors used charts of the moons of Jupiter to determine what time it is. By knowing the time, they could use star charts for navigation.

Had modern climate scientists been in charge of these charts, sailors probably would have sailed off into the abyss. Just like they are doing to government and civilization.
