The Arctic was warmer in the 1930’s and 1940’s than it is now, and unlike now – glaciers were melting very quickly.

The global warming scam reached its tipping point 30 years ago, when Rhode Island senator John Chafee held a hearing predicting 1C temperature rise over the past decade.
Sen. John Chafee [R., R.l.], chairman of the Senate Environment Subcommittee on Pollution, called on the U.S. to act internationally before these problems “irreversibly alter the ability of our atmosphere to perform basic life- functions.”
The scientists predicted the first strong greenhouse effects will be in the next decade when temperatures may rise an average of 1 degree Centigrade, or 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit.

Rhode Island’s hottest summer was in 1983, and heatwaves have been on the decline since, with no long term trend.
There has been no change in Rhode Island precipitation.
Chaffe was replaced by even nuttier Senator Whitehouse, who wants to jail anyone who doesn’t share his apocalyptic view of the world. He wants to return CO2 levels to what they were in 1938, when Providence was underwater.
After James Hansen appeared before Congress in 1988, the consensus was skeptical about his claims.

This was resolved in 1993, when newly elected VP Al Gore 0cut off funding to skeptical scientists like Dr. Bill Gray. NASA also erased the post-1940 global cooling from the temperature record, which made it much easier for scientists to fall in line with Al Gore’s climate scam.

In 1974, scientists said that global cooling threatened unending food shortages. They blamed the Polar Vortex and drought on expanding Arctic ice.

Last night was bittersweet for me. It was great watching Climate Hustle, but I was saddened that I wasn’t watching it with my friend and hero Dr. Bill Gray, who passed away three weeks ago. Besides being a legendary figure in tropical meteorology and hurricane forecasting, Dr. Gray was the first and strongest voice against Al Gore’s climate scam. Bill had his NOAA research funding cut off by Gore in 1993 over his skeptical views, and self-funded his research for the past 23 years, rather than submit to global warming extortion.
Bill would have loved the movie.

I have been closely following the AGW issue since the 1980s. If you are planning to hold any Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearings on the Climate Change issue, I strongly recommend that you invite Mr. Tony Heller who is the author of the website Real Science under the pen name of Steve Goddard.
Tony Heller has been indefatigable at creating and keeping a very active website (going on nearly 10 years) with many new entries nearly every day. This is all done on his own time with little or no financial backing. He is amazing in his dedication to the need to bring truth to the various temperature trends of the meteorological observational networks. His blog is unique in:
- Showing how nearly every recent weather and climate extreme we have been observing has also been observed in the past – there is thus nothing new, special or distinctive about the recent US and global extreme weather events.
- Demonstrating how surface temperature data from the US and at many other foreign locations is being systematically and incorrectly altered to make the older data colder and the recent data warmer. These changes are being made with the purpose of showing greater upward temperature increases than those really occurring. Nobody else has as many data documentation examples of these discrepancies as does Heller. He shows how NASA, NOAA and a number of foreign weather services have been altering data to show larger than observed upward warming curves. This is directed to obtaining a better justification of the AGW hypothesis. This data alteration needs to be brought to the public’s attention..
- Tony Heller has unique talents in the computer field with 30 years of working experience. It is his special computer skills that have allowed him to find and dig into the historical meteorological data sets from the US and around the world and compare original observations of surface temperatures with recent weather service reports. He is most unique in his data discrepancy findings.
- Heller’s Real Science website is completely free of any government, corporation, environmental, or NCO sponsorship. He runs his blog on his own time and own support except for some small and modest donations from his web readership. These contributions are far short of covering his costs. Heller is completely independent of any sponsoring group.
I strongly recommend that you give serious consideration to have Tony Heller as a witness on any future hearing you may be holding on the topic of global warming. Thank you for hearing me out.
