In 1988, NASA’s James Hansen claimed droughts re getting worse, and that the odds of drought in the 1950’s were only one in twenty.

The exact opposite has happened. and in fact the frequency of drought in the 1950’s was 50%, not 5% as Hansen claimed. How could he make a mistake that bad, and not be called out on it by the New York Times?

The worst drought in US history was in 1934, when 80% of the US was in drought.

In fact, the 1934 drought was worldwide – with CO2 below 310 PPM.

There is no correlation between drought and the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. Why aren’t climate scientists interested in doing some actual research, and finding out what caused the 1934 global drought – rather than just blaming farmers in Oklahoma for it like they usually do.

On Friday I had a 5 minute walk to the bus stop in Gaithersburg. The bus took me right to the Southwest ticketing area at BWI. I flew through TSA-pre security,  and at the other end hopped right on the bus at DIA and was dropped off with a 5 minute walk from my apartment.

I left Gaithersburg at 4 pm and arrived in Boulder at 9:45 pm. I blogged and tweeted the whole flight and both bus rides. Total cost : $17 in bus fares and $130 for the airline ticket. No parking costs, no rental car, no dealing with Friday rush hour traffic.

In 1939, scientists also said that this glacier was collapsing, along with all the other glaciers in Eastern Greenland, and Norway.
