During the summer of 1934, almost every afternoon in Arkansas was over 90 degrees, but this year has been just over 20% – the lowest on record. The frequency of hot days in Arkansas has declined sharply over the past 80 years.

Hot Days In The Midwest Are A Thing Of The Past

This year has seen the lowest frequency of hot days on record in the Midwest (MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, MI)  Less than 4% of readings have been over 90 degrees, compared to more than 50% in 1934 and 1936. The frequency of hot days in the midwest has declined by almost 50% since the 1890’s.

Movement Of Old Thick Ice Into The Western Arctic Since 2012

The image below animates NSIDC’s ice age maps since mid-summer 2012, and shows how a huge mass of old, thick ice has moved into the western Arctic over the past two years.

This puts Arctic alarmism on the endangered species or extinction list. The Arctic is rapidly returning to the state it was in in the 1980s and 1990s, with lots of old ice in the western Arctic.

Maryland Summer Nights Second Coldest On Record This Year

Nights have been cold here in Maryland this summer, the second coldest on record going back to 1895. I have been waiting for it to warm up in the mornings before I take the dogs out, with low temperatures near 50 degrees this week.

Arctic sea ice area on August 15 was just below 2006, and within one standard deviation of the 1979-2014 mean. Up 51% since 2012.
