I hope you didn’t think I was referring to the weather.

Political wisdom in Kentucky has long dictated that winning coal country is key to victory. But coal has assumed out-sized importance in this election as a devastating sequence of mine shut downs and job losses in eastern Kentucky have put the region, a once reliably Democratic source of votes, up for grabs.

Obama is finally convincing lifelong Democrats that their party hates them. Slow learners, but showing possible signs of brain activity.

1. Decent people who think about how their actions affect other people.
2. People who recline their seats in the coach compartment of aircraft.

Obama should dump Biden for his third term, and pick up John Boehner as his  truly loyal right hand man. Boehner always has Obama’s back, and is always there to divert attention away from any real issues which could end the worst presidency in history.

Australia is just about to kill the green demons which have plagued their country for decades. The closer these scum get to being exorcised, the louder they scream. But soon they will be dead,

And Australia will embolden the rest of world to rid themselves of the mentally ill people who have been running our governments, and currently occupy the White House..

1. Skeptics are a great community of sincere, hard working, decent people.It as great meeting all the people whom who I have only known by E-Mail until now
2. Skeptics are getting away from arguing science with alarmists who have no interest in science, and only use their fake science as a smokescreen for pushing a political agenda.
3. Be prepared for situations where things don’t work perfectly.
4. Jennifer Marohasy from the University of Queensland is one smoking hot scientist!
5. There are lots of like minded people determined to end this corruption of science.

Pat Michaels was at my presentation yesterday and pointed out at minute 56 that one of the reasons temperature representations have changed is because of the inclusion of southern oceans into the global temperature record.

Answering Pat, the main graphics I used were comparing 1975 Northern Hemisphere temperatures vs. 2014 GISS Northern Hemisphere temperatures, and shows a sharp discrepancy between 1910 and 1940.

Also, a 1978 NOAA report actually showed more cooling in the Northern Hemisphere from the late 1950s at altitude (radiosonde) than at the surface. And the global representation from that report showed very similar global cooling at altitude as at the surface.  So I don’t think that Pat’s objection really impacts the message I was presenting.

Here is a link to my presentation yesterday. It unfortunately started with a few technical problems. The slides didn’t get projected until I was several minutes into the presentation, the clicker didn’t work and the platform was at a very oblique angle to the screen, so small text wasn’t readable from the podium. Unfortunately this cost about 4 minutes of my 13 minute allotment and I wasn’t able to complete the presentation, but by minute 8 of the video I had figured out how to work with the setup and it went smoothly after that.

The other speeches by Russell Cook and Marc Morano were excellent, and a very good Q&A at minute 50 which is well worth watching.
