Twitter / HeidiCullen: Rainfall that led to flooding …

June 02, 2013

Woodward Ranch, Texas (about 17 miles northwest of D’Hanis, which is 40 miles west of San Antonio) measured an amazing 10.00? in 1 hour, 15.00? in 2 hours and a world record 22.00? in 2 hours and 45 minutes on May 31,1935 between 3:00-6:00 a.m. This was an especially interesting event since, just hours earlier, a rain gauge in eastern Colorado (at a location 25 miles northeast of Colorado Springs) measured 24? of rain in a 6-hour period between noon-6:00 p.m. May 30th (22.80? of which fell in just 4 hours). Several other gauges in eastern Colorado also measured amounts close to this, lending creditability to the figure

The Tech Surge

I make my living writing software these days, and I can’t imagine any way to wreck software faster than to have a whole bunch of people working on the same piece of code at the same time.

No doubt the community disorganizer understands this,  based on his vast experience at product development and business.

Only An Imbecile Cop Couldn’t Tell The Difference Between An Airsoft Rifle And A Real One

Other than the basic shape, an airsoft gun doesn’t look much like an AK-47. It is made of shiny plastic, has a white plastic slide instead of a shiny metal bolt, and weighs about one tenth as much as a real rifle, so it is held quite differently.

The kid was holding the toy in one hand. They yelled at him from 30 feet and he turned to see why. If it was a real eleven pound AK rifle and he was planning on shooting it, he would have had both hands on the weapon. People shoot rifles with two hands. Didn’t anyone tell the police that?

I hope they get prosecuted, but this is America – and it will just be one more “no hesitation” police whitewash. There is no rule of law in this country any more.

Obamacare Success Inspires Business

ScreenHunter_1834 Oct. 24 20.01

The Day One dizzying success of Obamacare has inspired several industries in the private sector to similar heights of achievement. “The private sector is always languishing behind the government,” said Jay Carney in a White House press release earlier today, “especially in terms of technology and efficiency. It is hoped that by our showing the world that success is achievable, others would be inspired to do as well.”

Indeed, with the government to lead the way, private sector businesses, and even other governments, are beginning to think they could succeed, too. Consider some of the Obamacare inspired success stories of today:

Last week, Ford rolled out its Pinto II. Always on the cutting edge of green energy, the Pinto II boasts the new Internal Eco Drive, or IED powered engine. Selling like hotcakes, 8,327 Pinto IIs rode off the lot in the last seven days, and dozens of them carried their satisfied owners home without exploding. “We believe 48 of our new cars may have made it home safely, and there are reports of two or three more in another country that did the same. We’re just so grateful that our president showed us what’s possible,” said a Ford spokesman

NCAR : Disappearing The Little Ice Age

In 2005, NCAR did some wonderful junk science, disappeared the LIA, and tacked Hansen’s fake temperature record on to the end.

Ammann and Wahl’s findings contradict an assertion by McIntyre and McKitrick that 15th century global temperatures rival those of the late 20th century and therefore make the hockey stick-shaped graph inaccurate.  They also dispute McIntyre and McKitrick’s alleged identification of a fundamental flaw that would significantly bias the MBH climate reconstruction toward a hockey stick shape. Ammann and Wahl conclude that the highly publicized criticisms of the MBH graph are unfounded.

The Hockey Stick Controversy: New Analysis Reproduces Graph of Late 20th Century Temperature Rise – Media Advisory

The 1990 IPCC report showed that the LIA was the coldest period in 10,000 years, but somehow NCAR completely missed it.

So for fun, I overlaid NCAR’s toy hockey stick on the 1990 IPCC graph, in the image below. Terrifying, isn’t it? Clearly the Earth is going to end soon.

Virginia Hurricanes Have Disappeared

During the 19th century hurricanes in Virginia were quite common, but thanks to evil man-made CO2, Virginia hurricanes almost never happen any more – with only one hurricane in the last 60 years.
