President Obama and his cabinet have laid down the gauntlet, by announcing that any government scientist who interferes with the White House political agenda will be purged.

This makes it impossible for any scientist to act as a whistleblower, or even publish an honest paper.

In 2009, Obama promised to de-politicize science.

The way he de-politicized it, was by strong-arming all government scientists into reporting results which back Obama’s political agenda.

Obama is openly dictating science from the White House. This approach was SOP in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, but a first for the US.

Arctic temperatures this summer are by far the coldest on record. NSIDC is officially chartered with reporting on polar ice conditions, but their functional charter appears to be pushing the global warming agenda.

How will they resolve this, now that they are diametrically opposed?

Obama says that he is going to fix the climate, using the time-honored techniques of raising taxes, attacking political opponents, ravaging the Constitution and putting people out of work. This is a fairly large engineering project so he needs to publish a set of goals, and a schedule.

First thing is that he needs to define what is wrong with the climate now that he is trying to fix. Then he needs to release a spreadsheet with a detailed schedule of how many tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, heatwaves, etc. he plans to produce over the next few decades, and how many lives and jobs he plans to wreck in order to achieve his goal.

The Los Angeles Times said that Kaplan was “a pioneer in the chemistry and physics of the stratosphere”. The Baltimore Sun called him “an expert on auroras and similar lights in the sky”.
