I Must Have Missed The OJ Riots

When a guilty OJ Simpson was acquitted of murdering two white people, I don’t remember any rioting.

However, acquittal of an innocent Zimmerman will spark riots.

Thank you progressives, for sending the message over the last 50 years that everything is the fault of white Americans, like Hispanic Zimmerman. Brilliant thinking telling people that they are not responsible for their actions.

Reggie – The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Reggie thinks that the brown McKenzie River delta mud they have been stuck in this week (red circle below) is in the Beaufort Sea

Reggie also wants the rowers to launch their little boat into an ice pack of thousands of massive chunks of constantly moving and shifting ice, so that Reggie can collect whatever financial reward he has tied up in this.

The rowers said this morning that they were hoping the wind would break up the ice blocking their path, but perhaps they can complete their Northwest Passage voyage while sitting in the McKenzie River delta.

NPR Economists Explain Atmospheric Physics

Climate change seems like this complicated, intractable problem. But maybe it doesn’t have to be.  On today’s show, we talk to a couple economists about a very simple idea that could solve the climate-change problem: Tax carbon emissions.

Episode 472: The One-Page Plan To Fix Global Warming : Planet Money : NPR

The connection between taxes and bad weather prevention is almost as clear as the connection between witches and people turning into newts.

Minnesota Was Much Hotter When There Was Much Less CO2

Ada, Minnesota has had eighty days over 100 degrees since 1895. More than half of those days occurred during the 1930s. All but one occurred with CO2 below 350 PPM. The current decade has produced no 100 degree days in Ada.

Ada has had five days over 110F.  All occurred in July, 1936.

On May 30, 1939 Ada reached an incredible 107 degrees.

Ada has had twelve days above 105F. All occurred with CO2 below 350 PPM

U.S. Historical Climatology Network

James Hansen wrote this last summer :

Published August 6, 2012

Recent heat waves that have triggered wildfires, droughts, and heat-related deaths in the United States and around the globe “almost certainly would not have occurred” without global warming—and will become more routine in coming years, NASA climate scientist James Hansen says.

Heat Waves “Almost Certainly” Due to Global Warming?

Besides the fact that his 2012 comments are complete nonsense, they are in direct contradiction to what he wrote in 1999.

Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath.

Reader Poll : Is Obama Unaware Of The Trial In Florida?

Zimmerman verdict sparks worry of riots

Having worked hard to inflame racial tension in Florida, Obama seems to have forgotten to call for calm. Why is this?

  1. He has rigged the outcome?
  2. He doesn’t know about the trial?
  3. He wants riots as an excuse for martial law?
  4. Cat got his tongue?
