Obama Makes Jimmy Carter’s Day Again
Since January 2009, when Barack Obama was inaugurated as president, the United States has seen 54 straight months with the unemployment rate at 7.5 percent or higher, which is the longest stretch of unemployment at or above that rate since 1948

Reggie Hits The Jackpot Again
Reggie claims that 2013 Arctic summer temperatures have been similar to 2007
Let’s check his claim out. The graph below has the 2013 area (degree-days) above freezing colored in red.
COI | Centre for Ocean and Ice | Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut
The next graph shows the same thing for 2007. Note that the YTD number of degree-days above freezing in 2007 was almost ten times greater than 2013.

COI | Centre for Ocean and Ice | Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut
The 10X difference in area is unrealistic however. Given that the latent heat of melting ice significantly depressed the temperature in 2007, it is safe to assume that the amount of heat available for melting ice in 2007 was much more than 10X the amount of heat in 2013.

Correlating New York Sea Level To Global Temperature
Climate experts tell us that sea level rise is caused by global warming, because they believe that ice can’t melt unless the temperature is increasing. (Quite alarming that they actually graduated from pre-school with critical thinking skills like that.)
Anyway, I plotted Manhattan sea level versus GISS global temperature anomaly for the period 1893 to 1910, to make this relationship clear.

Yes – this is the actual data.

The Hail Mary Approach To Climate Science
Yesterday one of the usual clowns on the thread was trying to claim that there has been an increase in the amount of hail in New Mexico due to global warming – citing this graph.
He forgot to mention this part :
the significant increase since 1987 is likely due to an increase in population and land use, and an increase in public awareness of severe weather through more aggressive spotter training at the WFO in Albuquerque
But ignoring the meaningless data above, let’s have a look at the theory. Convective hail is formed in violent thunderstorms which have very cold air in the mid to upper troposphere.
Global warming theory expects warming in mid-troposphere, so global warming should reduce the frequency of hail.

The Pillsbury Doughboy Generation
We have a large percentage of people in the US who have never experienced any actual adversity, so they imagine that having to walk in warm air for 30 seconds between their air conditioned car and their office is a form of extreme suffering – unprecedented in human history. If their street fills with water after a rain, it is a biblical flood, and McDonald’s closing early is an unprecedented famine.
By wrecking the US energy infrastructure and throwing away their freedoms, they will become their own teachers.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

PBS Says That The Discovery Of Global Warming Was More Important Than The Invention Of The Smallpox Vaccine
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M1BPz0nY3s]
PBS says that a 0.7C rise in global temperature over the last 150 years is worse than this:
Note that this guy doesn’t have the same smug look as the feminine hygiene product narrator in the video above.
By the mid-18th century smallpox was a major endemic disease everywhere in the world except in Australia and in several small islands. In Europe smallpox was a leading cause of death in the 18th century, killing an estimated 400,000 Europeans each year.[59] Through the century smallpox resulted in the deaths of perhaps 10% of all the infants of Sweden every year,[10] and the death rate of infants in Russia may have been even higher

Unprecedented Arctic Cold Continues
We are almost half way through the Arctic melt season, and there has been essentially no melting north of 80N this year.
COI | Centre for Ocean and Ice | Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut
It is safe to assume that the hockey team and the mainstream media will choose not to mention this fact to the public, because a free press is all about pushing an agenda.
