Speaking to reporters earlier Thursday, Obama said his “main concern” was to immediately remedy the IRS debacle.

“I promise you this, the minute I found out about it, my main focus was making sure we get the thing fixed.”

Hansen Takes A U-Turn : Confirms That Global Warming Reduces Severe Storms

“The cold freshwater coming out from Greenland is going to likely cause this cooling,” said Hansen. “That’s what I call the ‘storms of my grandchildren’ because you get cooling of the North Atlantic; warming of the tropics continues to increase, so the temperature gradient get stronger and it drives much stronger storms.”

Hansen Says Exploiting Tar Sands Makes Climate Change Unsolvable – Businessweek

I have already discussed the first half of this paragraph, but now let’s focus on the second half. Until today, Hansen’s entire thesis has been based on polar amplification – where the poles heat more than the tropics. This reduces the temperature gradient between the poles and the equator.

Now Hansen is arguing the exact opposite – that the equator heats while the poles cool, causing a larger temperature gradient and more severe storms. The implication being that the past warming should have reduced severe storms.

Hansen : Ocean Warming To Cause Ocean Cooling

The scientist also said he’s working on a paper based on “speculative” research that indicates accelerating ice loss from Greenland will eventually cause the North Atlantic to cool, creating the conditions for more powerful storms along the lines of Hurricane Sandy, the largest Atlantic hurricane on record.

Homer hasn’t quite worked out the feedback concept yet. If the North Atlantic, cools – then Greenland stops melting. Then the North Atlantic stops cooling.

Trenberth says that Sandy was caused by ocean warming, and now Hansen says it was caused by ocean cooling.

Nenana Ice Closing In On First Place

It is May 16th, and the ice at Nenana, Alaska has not broken up yet. This puts 2013 in second place for the latest breakup date, and rapidly closing on first place – which was May 20, 1964.

Raising April

Thermometers show that April was the 11th coldest since 1895 in the US, but through the magic power of data tampering – NCDC was able to bump April up to only 23rd coldest.

NCDC accomplished this by cooling the past as much as 3.1 degrees.

By contrast, Obama released the Benghazi E-mails with a 2,880 minute gap.

The Benghazi-related emails released by the White House late May 15 exclude the critical emails between administration officials that were sent during the crucial first two days after the deadly jihadi attack that killed four Americans last September.

97.1% Of Scientists Agree That The Climate Can’t Change Without Human Intervention

The research, the most comprehensive analysis of climate research to date, finds that 97.1% of the studies published between 1991 to 2011 that expressed a position on man made climate change agreed that it was happening, and that it was due to human activity.

Study: 97% Agreement on Manmade Global Warming | Weather Underground

The climate was stable for the last 4.6 billion years – prior to humans increasing atmospheric CO2 by 0.0001 mole fraction.
