Once you fire two blasts from a double barreled shotgun, the gun is empty. Most criminals can probably count to two. Any kind of defensive load in a 12 gauge is unmanageable by most women and many men. An AR-15 is much easier to handle, and will protect you – rather than get you killed. As usual, Biden has no idea what he is talking about.

I am also thinking that an Obama para-military thug with an automatic AR-15 and 284,000 rounds of ammunition – is not going to be deterred by your empty shotgun.

I noticed another fatal error in PIOMAS. Check out their ice thickness since 1979.

There is a huge problem. Winters used to gain one metre of ice, but now they only gain half that much.

That is absurd. With less end of summer ice cover now and thinner ice, the average gain in thickness now should be more  than it used to be. The reason for this is that thin ice grows more quickly than thick ice, because the water is not as well insulated from the cold air above. In 1980 the ice was very thick, so the sea water below it was very well insulated from the cold air above it. Thus new ice growth was inhibited by a thick layer of existing ice.

PIOMAS is crap, and this will become obvious over the next couple of years.

PIOMAS shows that Arctic ice has gained only 25 cm (10 inches) thickness since October. That number is absurd, after four months of temperatures far below freezing. Particularly since essentially all of the new ice is greater than 50 cm thick.

I derived these numbers by dividing PIOMAS volume by UIUC ice area.

PIOMAS says that current ice volume is 17,000 km^3. UIUC says that ice current ice area is 12,300,000 km^2. That works out to an average thickness of 1.4 metres.

The US Navy shows that most of the ice is between 1.5 metres and 5 metres thick.

I’m thinking that the average of a group of numbers between 1.5 and 5 is probably greater than 1.4.

I’m not aware of a single gun crime committed by a CCW holder in Colorado. The Dems just sent a message to psychos that they are now free to attack college campuses, without fear of interference. Campus rapists will be thrilled to know that coeds don’t have guns in their purses.

HB 1224 passes House

Colorado HB 1224 passed the house 34-31 today. All the republicans and 3 democrats voted against it. Next step is the senate, then the governor’s desk.

The bill prohibits the sale, transfer, or possession of an  ammunition feeding device that is capable of accepting, or that can be  readily converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition or more  than 5 shotgun shells (large-capacity magazine). A person may possess  a large-capacity magazine if he or she owns the large-capacity magazine  HOUSE SPONSORSHIP  Fields,  SENATE SPONSORSHIP  Hodge,  Shading denotes HOUSE amendment.  Double underlining denotes SENATE amendment.  Capital letters indicate new material to be added to existing statute.  Dashes through the words indicate deletions from existing statute.n the effective date of the bill and maintains continuous possession of  the large-capacity magazine.  A person who sells, transfers, or possesses a large-capacity  magazine in violation of the new provision commits a class 2  misdemeanor.
