The European media are just too embarrassed about having gotten it completely wrong when it comes to global warming. So they just continue pretending that the cold isn’t really happening. As people are freezing to death all around them this winter, they keep telling themselves (and us) it’s getting warmer! I’ve never witnessed such an astonishingly surreal situation.

Hazard kicks ballboy as Swansea reach final

The real story is that some nasty little Welsh ball boy decided to waste time by lying on the ball, and Hazard kicked the ball out from under him. The only malicious act was from the kid, and he was probably instructed to do it by someone associated with the Swansea  club.

The kid probably deserved to be kicked, but he wasn’t.

The Guardian has been telling us for years that the Arctic is warm and toasty and melty. Their headline story makes no sense.

I watched Marc Morano on CNN tonight debating some Borg from the Sierra Club. Marc rattled off lots of facts and figures showing that the climate is not getting more extreme.

The Borg response : “Marc isn’t a scientist. Climate change is here. The science is settled.”

You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

A few weeks ago the Republicans were holding a straight flush at the table with Obama. All they needed to do was hold their cards at the edge of the “Fiscal Cliff” and wait for Obama to fold. Had they allowed the “deadline” to pass, Obama would have agreed to anything they wanted within a few days. – because the people who would be affected were his constituency.

Instead, the Republicans dropped their cards and folded. Now Obama knows that he can run roughshod over them for everything from gun control to taxes.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he believes the primary goal of President Obama’s second term is to “annihilate the Republican Party.”

Yes, and thanks to you John – he knows that he can do it.

Compare Boner to Reagan. Reagan fired the air traffic controllers, and no one ever  messed with him again. You can’t win a battle if you are playing to lose. Are they going to fall over dead for all of Obama’s manufactured crises?

Storms are driven by temperature, pressure and humidity gradients. If the Arctic warmed,  these gradients would decrease and we would have fewer and weaker storms. If the Arctic was the same temperature as the equator, the Earth’s heat engine would turn off completely and there would be no storms, like on Venus.

In other words, President Obama is an idiot.

In 1974, the consensus agreed that global cooling was the new normal, and that much money was needed to study it. 97% of scientists understood that global cooling caused extreme weather.
