Alarmists claim that snow is caused by missing Arctic ice, but the historical record provides no support for that idea.
The graph below plots January Northern Hemisphere snow extent vs. January Arctic ice extent. There is no correlation. The years with highest and lowest snow extent both occurred with ~15 million km^2 of Arctic ice.

All through GWB’s presidency, lefties were hysterical that we were fighting wars over an addiction to Middle Eastern oil.
Now that we have a chance to become free from Middle Eastern oil, the same lefties are doing everything they can to prevent it from happening. They have devised a completely irrational and psychotic belief system, based around the idea that blocking development of domestic energy sources will somehow prevent bad weather in the future.
It would be difficult to imagine any belief system being more irrational, psychotic and self-destructive than that espoused by Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.

Actually, the earth is closest to the sun right now. We are five million km closer to the sun now than we were in July.
When the Earth is closest to the Sun it is said to be at perihelion. This occurs around January 3rd at a distance of 147,098,074 km. When it is at its furthest distance from the Sun, Earth is said to be at aphelion. That happens around July 4th at a distance of 152,097,701 km.
The Earth’s orbit is quite regular, and only a flaming imbecile would attempt to blame abnormal cold on it. Obama considers global warming advocates to be great scientists, because they also hate America.

Lefties have been telling us for years that the reason we are having wars in the Middle East is because we need their oil. Fracking and Tar Sands give us the ability to end our dependence on Middle Eastern oil, and lefties are fighting tooth and nail to prevent that from happening.
If they had an ounce of integrity they would be doing the exact opposite. Their behavior consistently indicates that the agenda is to protect Middle Eastern oil interests.

Bill McKibben must resist the temptation to use any fossil fuels this winter. Temperatures might be -20F at his house in Vermont, but burning anything that adds CO2 to the atmosphere is simply not acceptable.
The planet is overheating and we need inspirational leaders who are not hypocrites and liars. We can also safely assume that Harvard University is not using any heat, because they have divested themselves from fossil fuels. Global warming is keeping the students warm, and we wouldn’t want to send them the wrong message.
