Springtime At The Only Habitable Continent

Sunday, 2 May 2004

Antarctica is likely to be the world’s only habitable continent by the end of this century if global warming remains unchecked, the Government’s chief scientist, Professor Sir David King, said last week.

Putting The US Up On The Cross

Libs believe that sacrificing the US can save the planet. Even if their brain damaged global warming religion had any scientific merit, their token gesture of committing suicide and genocide on the rest of US, would be of no benefit.

More than 1,000 coal-fired power plants are being planned worldwide, new research has revealed.

The huge planned expansion comes despite warnings from politicians, scientists and campaigners that the planet’s fast-rising carbon emissions must peak within a few years if runaway climate change is to be avoided and that fossil fuel assets risk becoming worthless if international action on global warming moves forward.

Dems Working Overtime To Protect The Messiah

Why should Dems be concerned about incompetence, lies, fraud and blackmail in the Oval Office?

Until Friday, there were two possible explanations for why the White House failed to immediately call the Benghazi attack an act of terrorism. One was incompetence, the other was worse.

Now there is only one, and it is the worse one. Based on the persuasive testimony of ex-CIA boss David Petraeus, it is clear the Obama administration made a deliberate decision to mislead Congress and the American people.

So the president lied, including in a speech to the United Nations, where he cited the video as the reason for the attack. He sent out reams of flunkies to do the same, including his snide press secretary, Jay Carney.

Most notably, UN Ambassador Susan Rice went on five Sunday television shows to spin the nonsense about the hijacking of a demonstration — a demonstration that never existed. Rice made a fool of herself, and now, she, too is damaged goods.

Oddly, Petraeus, brought down by the reckless affair with his biographer, nonetheless looks like the only honest man in the drama.

A briefing he gave soon after the attack is now more suspect because it adhered to the party line, despite his belief that it was always a terrorist attack.

But Friday in his testimony behind closed doors, Petraeus told the truth as he knew it, even though the administration announced the day before that it was investigating his conduct at the CIA.

If that was meant to pressure him to protect the president, it failed spectacularly. Whatever his personal failings, Petraeus reinforced his reputation for professional integrity.

While Democrats are predictably and shamefully trying to deny the significance of Petraeus’ revelation, Republicans say they are determined to get the full truth, wherever the hunt takes them.

Clinton to Visit Middle East in Move to Defuse Gaza Conflict

President Obama sent Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to the Middle East on Tuesday to try to defuse the conflict in Gaza, the White House announced.

The last time I saw a headline like that was in the year 2000, when Bill Clinton went to seal the final peace deal, and left with the Intifada raging and suicide bombers detonating on Jerusalem buses every other day.

The Seemingly Endless World Of Climate Lies

The Washington Post says :

We’re on pace for 4°C of global warming. Here’s why that terrifies the World Bank.

Over the years at the U.N. climate talks, the goal has been to keep future global warming below 2°C. But as those talks have faltered, emissions have kept rising, and that 2°C goal is now looking increasingly out of reach. Lately, the conversation has shifted toward how to deal with 3°C of warming. Or 4°C. Or potentially more.

We’re on pace for 4°C of global warming. Here’s why that terrifies the World Bank.

No were not. There has been no warming for over 15 years. We aren’t on pace for anything. People can have whatever conversations they want, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t complete morons.

Ethical living: Can I fly with a clear conscience?

I’d like to travel by plane, but it seems iniquitous that air fares are so low. Can you offer me any reasons why I might fly with a clear conscience?

It is time for the aviation industry to pay the ferryman. Hitherto flying has soared above climate change regulation but from 30 April 2013 the EU dictates that it must sign up to emissions trading. In common with other heavily polluting industries, this means putting a cap on CO² emissions for planes arriving or departing from EU airports. Airlines would trade in pollution permits on an aviation carbon market. The theory is that fleets that are low carbon would be rewarded and this would incentivise airlines to invest in eco-friendly fleets.

I presume that an eco-friendly fleet would recycle methane from the toilet straight into the engine. Another possibility is that every tenth flight would simply drop out of the sky. Or maybe they could burn corn instead of sending it to Africa for children to eat?

USHCN 2.5 Cheating Goes Full Hockey Stick

Index of /pub/data/ushcn/v2.5/

Index of /pub/data/ghcn/daily/hcn/

The graph above shows the full year to date adjustments to US temperature data being performed in the new USHCN v2.5 data set. The upwards adjustments for 2012 blow away the previous record. Note the sharp spike upwards since 2007. The total upwards adjustment relative to 1903 is more than two degrees!

NOAA has apparently been tasked with making 2012 the hottest year ever, regardless of the actual temperatures. Kudos to them for throwing out any need for integrity or honesty in reporting temperature data. The planet must be saved from global warming, even if it isn’t warming.

Their graph shows that there have only been three years when Americans knew how to read thermometers (2005-2007) and that since 2007 we have been getting exponentially more incompetent at recording temperatures.

There are no checks and balances in this system, and NOAA knows that they can get away with anything in the current political environment.

We Can’t Account For The Lack Of Veracity In The Climate Community, And It Is A Travesty That We Can’t
