A few weeks ago, climate activists were very pleased that the lights had been turned off in New York for an hour. They said that this would save the planet. Lights out in New York was considered a beautiful sight.

New York held a similar unplanned event this week, and climate activists declared it a man made disaster which they never want repeated.

It isn’t clear what they are upset about. They wanted lights out in New York, but when it happened they got hysterical. Mayor Bloomberg should consider Hurricane Sandy to be the happiest week of his life, because it massively reduced New York’s CO2 footprint.

Climate experts like Michael Bloomberg and Bill McKitten tell us that global warming caused hurricane Sandy, which is clearly indicated by the fact that October was a cold month in the eastern US. Thousands of record lows were set east of the Rockies. Record snow fell in much of the East during hurricane sandy.

Before USHCN tampering, October temperatures in the US were 54th coldest since 1895. The top ten warmest Octobers all occurred before 1970.

Three days ago the great prophet McKitten told us that the Big Apple had been killed as a sacrifice for our sins. This left the prophet Hansen very sad, because his congregation is located there, over Seinfeld’s restaurant.

A great blessing has occurred. The holy trinity (Al, Jim and Kevin) report that the stone has rolled away – and the Big Apple has been resurrected. Another blessing from the endlessly merciful greenhouse gas gods.

I have been getting flooded with comment spam from people insisting that Manhattan is underwater, and that Hansen was correct.

This is surprising, because a few weeks ago alarmists were insisting that Hansen never said that.

The new normal is that Hansen did predict Manhattan would be underwater by now, and it is underwater. Imagine the shock of 40,000 marathon runners this weekend when they discover that the New York Marathon is now a swimming event.

When I asked Midler, dressed as the corpse of CoCo Chanel to go with the evening’s French theme, whether “super” hurricanes like Sandy will change the minds of climate change deniers, she said: “I have no idea. December 1861 – January 1862: California’s Great Flood

Beginning on December 24, 1861, and lasting for 45 days, the largest flood in California’s recorded history was created, reaching full flood stage in different areas between January 9–12, 1862.

The entire Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys were inundated for an extent of 300 miles (480 km), averaging 20 miles (32 km) in breadth. State government was forced to relocate from the capital in Sacramento for 18 months in San Francisco. The rain created an inland sea in Orange County, lasting about three weeks with water standing 4 feet (1.2 m) deep up to 4 miles (6 km) from the river.[1]

The Los Angeles basin was flooded from the San Gabriel Mountains to the Palos Verdes Peninsula, at variable depths, excluding the higher lands which became islands until the waters receded. The Los Angeles basin lost 200,000 cattle by way of drowning, as well as homes, ranches, farm crops & vineyards being swept-away.
