Attention Climate Conspiracists: NOAA Adjustments Show Summer 2012 3rd Hottest on Record
Attention climate conspiracists (lookin’ at you, Tom Nelson-bot): The NOAA/National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) analysis for August 2012 is in, and it shows that Summer 2012 was tied for the 3rd hottest on record in the contiguous 48 states of the U.S. That’s right, analysis of the raw National Weather Service (NWS) data and even the preliminary August adjustments from NCDC showed the summer would be at least tied with 2011 for second place, but the final analysis posted today lowered the August average by 0.1° to a tie with 2006 for 3rd place.

USHCN adjusted data shows 4th warmest, so they actually pushed it up one more notch rather than lowering it. The USHCN raw monthly data showed that the summer was 16th hottest on record.

Even after almost two degrees of upwards adjustments relative to 1901, USHCN was only able to cheat 2012 up to the #4 3 spot.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Royal Dutch Shell on Monday was moving its drill ship off a prospect in the Chukchi Sea, a day after drilling began 70 miles off the Alaska coast because sea ice was moving toward the vessel.

Shell Alaska spokesman Curtis Smith tells The Associated Press that drilling was stopped for safety reasons.

“As a precautionary measure and in accordance with our approved Chukchi Sea Ice Management Plan, Shell has made the decision to temporarily move off the Burger-A well to avoid potentially encroaching sea ice,” he said by email. “Once the ice moves on, the Noble Discoverer will re-connect to anchors and continue drilling.”

Shell officials on Sunday were monitoring ice measuring 30 miles long and 12 miles wide about 105 miles away from the drill ship, Smith said by phone.

This is of course impossible, because the experts in Boulder, Colorado say that there isn’t any ice in the Chukchi Sea

When I pointed out a couple of years ago the the University of Texas GRACE interpretations were nonsensical, John Cook wrote three of his dumbest articles “debunking” me and claiming that ice really does rapidly disappear at -30 degrees.

In the year of our CO2 god, 2007 – Arctic ice fulfilled the prophecies, and yet again in 2012.    Can there be any doubt that oracles of CO2 truth were correct?
