NSIDC wants us to believe that satellite measurements began in 1979.

But satellite records go back much further, and showed ice gain in the 12 years prior to 1979. Paul Homewood found this quote from the CRU Director HH Lamb

Kukla & Kukla (1974) report that the area of snow and ice, integrated over the year across the Northern Hemisphere, was 12% more in 1973 than in 1967, when the first satellite surveys were made.

If NSIDC showed the complete satellite data set, people would know that Arctic behavior was cyclical, as we can see in the original GISS temperature graph from Iceland

Hansen of course didn’t want us to know about this cyclical behavior either, so he got rid of it. You can do that when you are an activist, who also controls the data.

I saw it tonight. It is a very serious in depth, academic look at Obama’s background. Anyone who votes for him after seeing this movie, is insane.

Mark Serreze fooled a lot of people in 2007, and then tried to back of it.

The ice loss was mainly in the Chukchi Sea, where the storm was. The storm brought warm water to the surface. How could a scientist suggest that the storm did not affect the minimum?

Strong winds from the Kara and Laptev Seas have been compacting the ice. The world is not falling apart. Stop whining like little girls, please.

What a load of BS.  It has been cold all month and lots of snow. The albedo of the Greenland ice sheet is very high. These people have got to stop lying at some point.

McKibben has gone too far this time.  Where do you start with this stupidity?

Astronauts were picked for having the “Right Stuff” which did not include weakness, fear of their own shadow or dishonesty. A group of NASA’s finest (including Apollo astronauts) just blasted Hansen for wrecking NASA with his junk climate science and junk politics. There isn’t any indication that Neil Armstrong was worried about the climate when he died today.

From a scientific point of view, McKibben also gets a big zero.

Armstrong stepped on the moon in July. There is always a lot less ice at the end of August.

McKibben knows nothing about the state of Arctic ice prior to 1979. The IPCC reported a large increase from 1974 to 1979.

There can be little doubt that Armstrong would have been thrilled to have seen earth from the Moon again. People had bigger problems to deal with and didn’t make up imaginary fears about essential trace gasses.

It is pretty disgusting of McKibben to try to co-opt Neil Armstrong’s great accomplishments into McKibben’s pathetic failures.
