Richard Dawkins has been a hero of the left for his outspoken criticism of religious belief.
I have done some background research on him (30 seconds on Wikipedia) and have discovered that he has no formal training in theology, nor is he involved with any church.
By the well defined standards of the left, this clearly disqualifies him from talking about religious matters – which can only be properly discussed by people who have formal training and a steeply vested interest in their own dogma.
I have only put gas in my car once this summer, and then only because my $1.50 per gallon Safeway fuel rewards were about to expire. Normally I ride my bicycle everywhere.
I just had to drive across town to pick up something heavy, and by the time I got home an hour later I was totally pissed off about all the traffic lights and stupid drivers.
On Thursday I bought a new road bike, and am headed over now to Whole Foods to pick up lunch for the kids. That will ease the pain – assuming I don’t flip over the handlebars like I did last weekend ;^)

They are showing that ice volume is 50% of 2008 – the year when Serreze forcast an ice-free North Pole, because the ice was so thin.

Even more bizarre is that they show the average thickness (volume divided by area) of the ice at the end of July being 1.4 metres. If that were true it would almost all melt by the end of August.

I’m just back from a bike ride up in the mountains and took a couple of pictures along the way. Fort Collins is listed by the US Drought Monitor as being on the border between severe and extreme drought.
The picture below is my UHI measurement location. On a still clear night, temperatures are typically 5-10F cooler near the fire station on the right, than they are at the Safeway parking lot across the intersection (traffic light is inside the red circle.)

A favorite idiotic claim of warmists is that it is too cold to snow in Antarctica
Heavy snow occurs at frontal boundaries, where cold air collides with warmer humid air. The colder the air, the more snow is going to fall. That is why ski areas invariably report more snow at the (colder) top of the mountain than at the bottom.
The reason that it doesn`t snow much in the interior of Antarctica, is that humid air never makes it there. The oceans around Antarctica are frozen and air masses precipitate out almost all their moisture before they reach the interior. If a humid air mass ever did miraculously make it all the way to Vostok, they would get a lot of snow.
When they aren’t claiming that it is too cold to snow, they are busy claiming that Antarctica is melting.
Hurricane Two Category 1 hurricane
This hurricane hit the U.S. in May, causing minor effects. It was one of only 3 May hurricanes during the 20th century in the Atlantic Basin; the others were Able in 1951 and Alma in 1970.
It marked the earliest date for the season’s second hurricane to form in any Atlantic season on record, and it was the earliest hurricane to hit the U.S. in recorded history.
