Illinois GHCN airports show warming, while the non-airport stations show cooling.
When I see stuff like this, it sends up a huge red warning flag, which reads “complete garbage.” Both sets of temperatures were taken covering the same state over the same time period. The divergence in polarity tells us that something is fatally contaminating the data. The graph below indicates that the S/N ratio is probably an unbelievably poor < 0.25.
USHCN daily temperature data averaged over all stations in Texas show that temperatures have been in decline since 1895.
Muller’s Best Worst temperature data shows the exact opposite.
It looks like Best is using the same crap data as GHCN
How can anyone take this temperature data seriously? It is literally all over the map.
As the world continues to warm from climate change, most of California — including San Francisco Bay and Monterey Bay — will see a greater rise in sea level than other parts of the planet, according to a prominent national study released Friday.
The report, from the National Academy of Sciences, found that the impacts of melting ice and warming, expanding oceans will hit California harder because most of the state’s coast line is slowly sinking due to geological forces. Ocean levels south of Humboldt County will rise up to 1 foot in the next 20 years, 2 feet by 2050, and up to 5 feet by 2100, the study showed.
San Francisco Bay already has risen roughly 7 inches in the past 100 years, as measured by the tidal gauge at Fort Point, under the Golden Gate Bridge.

However, an increase of 0.0001 mole fraction CO2 will blow temperatures through the roof.

At least for the time being, an ice-free patch of ocean about a mile wide has opened at the very top of the world, something that has presumably never before been seen by humans and is more evidence that global warming may be real and already affecting climate.
The last time scientists can be certain the pole was awash in water was more than 50 million years ago.
”It was totally unexpected,” said Dr. James J. McCarthy, an oceanographer, director of the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University and the co-leader of a group working for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which is sponsored by the United Nations. The panel is studying the potential environmental and economic consequences of marked climate change.

The lowest January-July average ice extent was in 2006, with 2012 ranked third highest. The trend has been slightly upwards over the last seven years.
Every month we hear that 2012 is the record lowest, which leads us to the conclusion that using climate math, the sum of a large quantity of negative numbers is a positive number.
PIOMAS is showing that current ice volume is about 50% of 2008. Do you think that is credible?
In 2008, Mark Serreze warned that the North Pole was likely to melt away because the ice was so thin. According to PIOMAS, it is only half as thick this year as it was in 2008. The ice must be doomed to all melt away this summer.

It seems unthinkable, but for the first time in human history, ice is on course to disappear entirely from the North Pole this year.
The disappearance of the Arctic sea ice, making it possible to reach the Pole sailing in a boat through open water, would be one of the most dramatic – and worrying – examples of the impact of global warming on the planet. Scientists say the ice at 90 degrees north may well have melted away by the summer.
“From the viewpoint of science, the North Pole is just another point on the globe, but symbolically it is hugely important. There is supposed to be ice at the North Pole, not open water,” said Mark Serreze of the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado.
