The Sun has reached its peak elevation for the year in the Arctic, and is about to start its descent towards winter. Experts tell us that albedo loss in the Arctic is dramatically warming the climate, but I am having a tough time seeing it. Everything looks white – just like it always does.
An unenlightened individual might think it is stupid to build an expensive house in a location surrounded by 50 foot tall kindling wood, which burns every few decades.
An enlightened green would instead recognize that the reason the house burned was due to “climate change” caused by evil “climate change deniers” This same individual would also recognize that CO2 generated by driving back and forth to the mountains every day, is not of the evil CO2 variety. Rather, it is a good form of CO2 generated by an individual who lives in harmony with nature.
It is also well known that having an Obama sticker or a bike rack on your car, makes your vehicle harmless to the environment.
NSIDC says that Arctic ice extent is at a record low for the date. PIOMAS says that ice thickness is at a record low. NOAA says that it is the hottest year ever, with record highs exceeding record lows at a ratio of three trillion to to one.
Someone out there must be willing to bet on a record low ice extent this summer?
I was reading Robert Redford’s idiotic comments on the Huffington Post, and the comments of the morons who post there – and realized that the only way to get through to these people is to shut off fossil fuels for a month next winter. They think that is what they want, and we should oblige them.
It will be interesting to see how many greenies have resorted to cannibalism after three weeks of no fossil fuels.
I found some aerial photos of the CSU campus, showing land use changes around the Fort Collins weather station. The station has warmed about 4F over the last 100 years.
In 1937, the station was located in the middle of a farm,
By 1950, the area was starting to get built up.
By 1969, the city had surrounded the weather station.
Now it is in the middle of a parking lot.
Hansen tells us that UHI isn’t important, or has caused cooling.

After adjustments, USHCN shows a strong warming trend in New York. They achieve this by massively cooling the past. All temperatures prior to 2000 are cooled as much as three degrees. The older a temperature record is, the more it has been tampered with. USHCN is cooling the past, at a rate of about two degrees per century.
We know from studies published on the GISS web site, that there has been a huge UHI impact in New York – up to 14F during summer nights.

Because of this large UHI effect, the USHCN adjustments should do the exact opposite of what they are doing. Recent temperatures should be adjusted downwards by several degrees, and older temperatures should be left alone.
The people in charge are defrauding the public.
Hansen tells us that 4C UHI is insignificant, in comparison to the 0.4C anomaly of 2012.
NEW YORK CITY’S HEAT ISLAND.
(Rosenthal et al. 2003; Gaffin et al. 2008), and the heat island signal, measured as the difference between the urban core and the surrounding rural surface air temperature readings taken at National Weather Service (NWS) stations, averages ~4°C on summer nights (Kirkpatrick and Shulman 1987; Gedzelman et al. 2003; Gaffin et al. 2008). The greatest temperature differences typically are sustained between midnight and 0500 Eastern Standard Time (EST; Gaffin et al. 2008).
Surface air temperature readings from these stations show that the city was several degrees warmer than the suburbs, and up to 8°C warmer than rural areas within 100 km of the city, with conditions that had been sustained throughout the previous night.
1930s deniers are running rampant in government, led by James Hansen – who has been working for decades to distort the historical records of the 1930s.
If accurate records of the 1930s were still included in Hansen’s temperature graphs, they would decimate his theory and kill a $100 billion industry.
Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath.

Twenty two of South Dakota’s twenty-five hottest Junes, occurred with CO2 below 350 ppm.
A triple-digit high today is no error, said NWS meteorologist Kari Bowen.
“We are expecting those high temperatures for this area today,” she said. “The reason for that is the jet is up north, we have this big ridge of high pressure that’s building in, causing all the air to sink and heat up.”

This is just crazy talk, but the fact that air is sinking and heating over Colorado, means that it is rising and cooling somewhere else. I have this bizarre theory that the mass and average barometric pressure of the atmosphere don’t vary much from year to year.
Regardless, 97% of scientists are 99% certain that CO2 causes heatwaves – rather than sinking air.
