The videotape showed an escalating situation that abruptly became hostile when officer Manuel Ramos snapped on latex gloves and said, “Now, you see my fists? … They’re getting ready to f— you up … If you don’t start f—— listening.”

Within moments, Ramos and another officer take Thomas to the ground with help from a baton, according to the video, and pounce on him as he begins screaming “I’m sorry dude … I’m sorry. … I can’t breathe dude … I can’t breathe, sir! Please, help!”

Cicinelli arrived at the scene a few minutes later in response to a call that an officer needs help and quickly joined the fray, the videotape showed. He used a Taser to shock the man into submission and then used the plastic gun as a weapon as he hit Thomas in the face, the video shows.

Eating kangaroo instead of cattle and sheep has been given a scientific stamp of approval by the government’s top climate change adviser.

The belching of millions of farm animals is a major contributor to Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions, notes Professor Ross Garnaut in a major report to the government on global warming.

Kangaroos, on the other hand, emit negligible amounts of methane gas.

If farmers were included in a system requiring industry to buy permits for the gas they produce, the cost of meat would rise and could lead to a change in eating habits, says Garnaut in the 600-page report released on Wednesday.

Alarmists got all excited in March about an isolated area of warmth over the eastern US.

It would be nice if they were correct, but North America and the Arctic are surrounded by very cold water. How long will our luck hold out?

The Internet is all abuzz with Hansen’s not yet failed (and previously ignored) 1981 forecasts.

The 1981 forecasts were of course superseded by his already failed 1988 Congressional forecasts, but the team is getting desperate to buy time. The graph below shows that his 1988 forecasts are already a total bust.

The next graph overlays Hansen’s 1988 forecasts (blue) on his 1981 forecasts. Sometime between 1981 and 1998, he completely lost the plot.

When the team isn’t busy rewriting history, they get busy hiding it.

Global warming is turning the Southwest into a permanent Dust Bowl, where the dry conditions of our worst 20th century droughts — the 1930s and 1950s — become the norm over the next century, according to new research.

Global warming will push our winter storm track, which brings the region much of its moisture, to the north, according to Richard Seager at Columbia University’s Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory.

They suggest a fundamentally new kind of drought here — not the occasional unusually dry stretches of the type the region saw in the 1930s and 1950s, but a climate that is that dry all the time.
