Waiting For Lewis Pugh’s Arrival

After Mark Serreze forecast an ice-free North Pole in 2008, Lewis Pugh hopped in his kayak and headed north. As far as I can tell he hasn’t made it there yet.

Twenty-four hours of sunlight is really hotting up the North Pole.

Obama : Ignore All The Stupid Sh*te I Did The Last Four years

Obama spent the last four years blaming his screw ups on Bush, Republicans, Rush Limbaugh, The Tea Party, bitter people who cling to guns and religion, power plants, white people in general – or anybody productive. Now he wants you to ignore the fact that he has nearly doubled the national debt and unemployment, and asks you give him the opportunity to complete his job of finishing off the US.

Obama: Focus On The Next 4 Years, Not The Last Ones

President Obama says the country has come too far in the last four years to change course now. He kicked off his re-election campaign Saturday with a pair of high-profile rallies in two pivotal states: Ohio and Virginia.

LA Times : Heartland Trying To Make Animals Smoke Cigarettes

What sort of mind-altering substances can lead to a completely incoherent rant like this?

By Dan Turner
May 4, 2012, 1:23 p.m.
It has finally happened: The Heartland Institute, an anti-science front group that used to focus on downplaying the dangers of smoking on behalf of Phillip Morris but now spends much of its time denying the scientific consensus on climate change, has decided to stop even trying to be credible in order to attract publicity. In the vernacular: It has gone all PETA on us.

Global warming deniers mount ad campaign calculated to outrage – latimes.com

Perhaps the author means anti-science animals smoking cigarettes to deny the scientific consensus?

These morons can never actually debate the science, so they stick with incoherent non-sequiturs and ad homs.  No Dan. You are anti-science and anti-journalism. Do you have any useful skills?

A Whole New Atmosphere Strikes Ohio

A few weeks ago, Jeff Masters told us that global warming had finally taken over the Eastern US, once and for all. He described it as a “whole new atmosphere.”

CLEVELAND – It was what grape growers in Northern Ohio feared the most. Early Sunday morning, temperatures in the Grand River Valley vineyards of Lake and Ashtabula Counties dropped into the lower and middle 20s. That’s not just a quick frost. That’s a hard freeze. By 9 that morning, most of the primary buds, the growth that gives you the best fruit, were black and shriveled, killed by freezing temperatures.

“Fields that froze this week have not frozen in 50-60 years in our area.” he added, “In my case I just bought 54 acres of a neighboring farm last year that has never really frozen like this. The previous owner is 93 years old and has owned the farm I bought since 1956 and never experienced this complete a frost.”

Pachauri Seeks A Return To Belief Based Persecution

Most of us determined a few hundred years ago that it is not OK to demonize people based upon their belief system.

Pachauri is a bit of a Neanderthal however, and believes that society most stop anyone who disagrees with him that the Himalayas will be gone in 22 years. Just when you thought the dark ages were over.

Climate scepticism threatens people, planet – IPCC chief

BANGKOK (AlertNet) – Continuing scepticism about climate change in some parts of the world threatens the planet and the people on it, according to Rajendra K. Pachauri, chief of the Nobel-prize winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

A Real Scientist In Summit County

Bob Berwyn spends his days spewing global warming tripe, while his neighbor – who is an actual scientist – tries to clean up the intellectual waste left behind by Berwyn.

Who We Are: Doubting Marty: A dissenting voice on climate change

Copper resident says climate change advocates shadow real concerns

Martin Hertzberg says global warming is a farce.

Even if advocates of the phenomenon are right about their claim the Earth is warming, it’s not because of humans, he says.

“If there is any global warming, it’s natural. But I would go further. The theory that human emission of carbon dioxide having an effect … that theory, in my humble opinion as a scientist, is one of the greatest frauds in the history of science,” Hertzberg said.

The bottom line is that carbon dioxide has a minimal impact on climatology, he says. And he should know, because he was a meteorologist in the Navy, and has since taught the subject as well as turned it into his retirement hobby for the past 15 years.

Since the start of the global warming fad, as he might call it, in the mid-1990s, and since he moved to Copper Mountain as a full-time resident in 1996, he’s delved into the subject. He’s published several papers and coauthored a book titled “Slaying the Sky Dragon: Death of the Greenhouse Gas Theory.” He rarely lets any mention of climate change in the pages of the Summit Daily go unchallenged, and opinion page readers are accustomed to seeing him voice his doubts on a regular basis.

Hertzberg holds a PhD in physical chemistry from Stanford before being trained as a meteorologist — which is where he came to know water vapor and its impact on weather.

1932 Shock News : No Snow At The Olympics In January

Bill McKibben held a fake ski race today on no snow in May at Aspen – to prove global warming.

Eighty years ago he could have held that event in January at Lake Placid. According to Vice-President Biden, 1932 was three years after (not-yet-President) Roosevelt went on (not-yet-existent) TV to talk to America about the stock market crash.

STEAMBOAT CRUSHES SNOW RECORD: 34 INCHES OF CHAMPAGNE POWDER!
Posted By: Kristin Park on February 20, 2012 4:04 pm

Today marks a new record for Steamboat, Colorado with the most snow of any resort in Colorado in a 24-hour period with a monstrous 27 inches at mid-mountain and the summit.  Since the 5 a.m. report, another seven inches have floated down bringing the total to a whopping 34 inches!

The snow started dumping yesterday afternoon at around 1 p.m. when a storm rolled in, and picked up speed throughout the rest of the day and last night.  It added significantly to the 75-inch base at mid-mountain and 82-inch bask at the summit.  There doesn’t seem to be any signs of stopping, and that doesn’t concern any of the mountain enthusiasts in the area.  Another storm is expected on Tuesday, and skiers and snowboarders are welcoming it with open arms.  Still others are predicted for the throughout the rest of the week as well.
